I think defensively we have turned the corner against traditional offenses. It seems as though we have slightly adjusted. Can't really compare playing defense against Duke/Va Tech and playing defense against Ga Tech. Completely different IMO. Dorito sucks at making adjustments in game. We should have loaded the box with all 11 defenders against Ga Tech and made them beat us through the air. That was a demoralizing game to say the least.

FWIW, I didn't see much change in the defense. Anyone what to point out specific details?

I'm happy with the win, maybe the best performance under Golden. Still, this is a terrible VTech team and I still saw the same schematic problems with the defense. Tech's offense is just horrendously bad and couldn't exploits it. And when they did right out of half time, they gave the ball to us 3 times. That 3rd quarter was ugly defensively outside the TOs.

We still can't generate a pass rush. We still don't get penetration in the run game. We still play a lot of the soft zone that is a simple pitch and catch for competent QBs.

You're wrong. We shut down a potent offense, so that means we changed the defense again. We've changed it against FAMU, Arkansas State, Duke, and VT.

We're not going to the ACCCG unless we win out(lol). So this season has been a huge and utter failure. We may win 7-8 instead of 5-6. YAY!!

I will never complain about a win over Vtech. I dont care how bad they are. The defense played very well..But unfortunately, that offensive gameplan will not work from here on out..We have to keep it fresh and change things up week to week.

As for the defense..I still dont like our DBs playing 10 yards off the ball but they played solid even though Vtech rarely went vertical. Our true test to see if this secondary has gotten better is next week when UNC comes to town. They will throw the ball like Cincy did.

I could live with an 8-4 regular season record AND a bowl win. The bowl win is KEY. Have to end the year on a positive note.

If you look at our season, the defense hasn't really been terrible, GT and Nebraska ran train on us and we never adjusted, but we haven't been putrid. If we play out our season and the defense tosses in a few more performances like that, it's going to be tough to get D'Onof OUT and a new scheme IN.. and that's concerning.

I had 8-4 9-3 season from the get go, so if we do that and a bowl win, that's right on par with expecations, and i can't be mad at that. Though it's a shame we didn't go for it against Louisville. Should have beaten them.

1. Duke is on another level than everyone else

2. Kaaya's accuracy and decision making are already elite

3. Linder was very impressive. I think we out weighed VT by 60 pounds at the point of attack (VT 255 UM 315) so smart to run right at them.

4. FSU, not UNC, is the measuring stick game and it's been that way for three decades.

5. I enjoyed the wrinkles Coley added to the offense, but our staff's record is a known quantity nothing new or different to say about that.
