we go 8-4, a bowl game and outside chance at 9 wins. golden is gone and this job just got more attractive. there is talent here to win right away and continue on.
if golden was here, we wouldn't have gone 8-4 and if he was, he wouldn't be fired.

Because Golden was fired I am ok with winning 8 games this year. Not bad at all.

The fact golden is gone makes it a good season. The fact he is gone AND we can win 9 games makes it great.

Now that the expectations have been set, schiano, strong, and cristoballz are ready

that's not expectations. not by any means. if you told me we'd go 9-4 and golden would be gone, i'd be ecstatic.

Another wasted season. Just like 2014 was wasted. Only bright spot is Golden is fired but let's not celebrate till we name a replacement.

yeah, somewhat of a wasted season, but, not if golden got fired. excited for the future for the 1st time in years. we have talent and are very close to competing with anyone.

Agree good season sice we got rid of the cancer that was golden. Now we just gotta make a good hire and move into top echelon of cfb

Larry Scott would have had us win against cincy and possibly take FSU. 10-2 season with an average coach.

We knew it was a wasted season when they brought Al back. That part was given. The fact that we could go 9-4 in a season that we all knew was a waste of time is actually a step in the right direction.

You guys are soft! Miami winning 8 or 9 games should be a given. I guess I'm just a product of the 80's. We should dominate college football and be in ESPN consistently. BBB

No sht. But if you expected that in August you're just not a serious person.

Totally agree, 5X.

The one thing that can be said for the Larry Scott "era" is that his team beat all of the teams they should have beaten. That in and of itself is an improvement over the al golden era.

Here we go. People will feign outrage that anyone would remotely consider this a good* season. It's not a good season, it's effing great. If I offered (possibly) 9 wins AND the mid-season firing of Golden to you in August you'd have to be a moron to not say "**** yeah!". We not only got rid of Alfredo before there could be any ridiculous worry that he might be kept because we hit 8 wins today but we also are making this job look even more and more attractive as we creep toward almost be a double digit win team. Now just make a freakin' good hire.

Some additional facts to add to op. We got a new administration. It seems markedly more committed to football. And there seem to be a number of intriguing coaches on the market. This season has gone much better than I thought it would. With the right hire, it was the season that saved the program.

Well, it's headed in the right direction. Next head coach gets a good roster with a lot to work at the core. Need to replace receivers and defensive backs and find a couple of marquee defensive tackles and a linebacker or two.
