not a bad season...

You guys are soft! Miami winning 8 or 9 games should be a given. I guess I'm just a product of the 80's. We should dominate college football and be in ESPN consistently. BBB

No sht. But if you expected that in August you're just not a serious person.

I expect this every year! Anything less is just BS. Al Golden never deserved to be HC here and everything one knows this. I've been calling for his head after year one.

My prediction was 8-4. I was hoping for 9-10 wins but then realized how we were coaching wise at beginning of season.

we go 8-4, a bowl game and outside chance at 9 wins. golden is gone and this job just got more attractive. there is talent here to win right away and continue on.
if golden was here, we wouldn't have gone 8-4 and if he was, he wouldn't be fired.

Now that the expectations have been set, schiano, strong, and cristoballz are ready
Awesome reading comprehension and thought process.

So so stupid if you can't get this wasn't setting expectations. Context dude.

I figured 6-6 at best. 8 wins is a respectable season. Margin of victory notwithstanding, really only one bad loss.

The problem with this year was the 4 losses were real bad. We should never lose to Cinc. FSU only because its 6 straight. Clemson and UNC were embarrassing. Some of the wins were not pretty either (Nebraska and Duke). Personally though, very prosperous indeed. Thank you Vegas for 5.5 on the over/under win total.

Well, it's headed in the right direction. Next head coach gets a good roster with a lot to work at the core. Need to replace receivers and defensive backs and find a couple of marquee defensive tackles and a linebacker or two.

Getting the oline fixed will help all of the above.

My preseason prediction was 5-7, so I'm happy. The team showed how good it can be without an incompetent HC; the talent is there. Now, let's see how great it can be with a superior HC.

Funny how as soon as we got rid of AL we started beating teams that we should beat. Can you imagine how good we will be when we get rid of the other bums (Coley,Dorito) AL and company were literally preventing this team from winning. Amazing.

I don't know. At least Golden is gone but hard to say not a bad season when we suffered our worst loss ever during it.

sometimes it has to get worse before it gets better. who cares at this point about the worst loss ever? i don't. al is gone, we might win 9 games and have a new coach, a lot of players coming back and things are looking bright.

yeah i mean as a realist..going 8-4 maybe 9-4 the same season firing a coach is pretty good. you would expect to be 5-7 6-6 when losing the HC

When I think about it; If we win 9 games and make any kind of a "splash" hire, we will likely come into next season ranked in the preseason.

The fact golden is gone makes it a good season. The fact he is gone AND we can win 9 games makes it great.

Nothing makes the season great when you're 8-4. Still, Al is gone and to me that's great. It's just too bad it had to get to this point and basically a decade is gone from what we'd all like.

I maintain that this isn't a complete rebuild, especially if Burns is the only early NFL defection. There is a good base of talent to work with and hopefully some of the young Olineman that RS are ready to contribute( seriously, this Oline is among the worst Ive ever seen at UM)

Who would have guessed he'd be gone at 8-4. We love you Clemson.

Didn't mean to down vote, just reply.

Back in August, I thought he had to win the Coastal or be gone.
I believe he would have been out, even with the 8 wins.

It was a good year for Hurricane football.

We basically got our cake and ate it too.

We got rid of Golden and still won 8 games. (I predicted 4-8 or 5-7 type year)

Clemson and NC were nightmares.
Cincy just shouldn't happen.

3 bad losses.

That being said, how many "good" wins did we have?
Pitt? Duke?

Forget it. Given the results of the last few years, I'll take it.
