So the savings is relatively “minimal” (in the grand scheme). Might as well fire him now.

I’ll be shocked if they do. They’re already $435 million in debt from the stadium renovations, and they’ve reportedly had to dip into the university’s emergency funds just to cover NIL expenses each year. Which is 67 million that has to be put back by 2028 or it falls onto the athletic departments books.

The question is who would take over on the staff? I just do not see anyone on that staff getting another win or two out of them this year. So I am not sure what the point is. They won't be able to make a splash hire that will bump this years recruiting. So save the 5 mill, get the right coach at end of year, and poach the portal.
