Norvell went 2-10 in 2024. Going into last season, seat should’ve been scorching. He proceeds to upset Bama (talent is there) before losing 4 straight (capped off by a terrible Stanford loss) before the bye week.

Late October. Perfect time to make a move. James Franklin, fired 6 days before, there for the taking.. and what do they do?! Double-down. Let VT take their obvious replacement. Bring back a dead man walking to do exactly what we all expected. Could not have played it worse.. and we are all better for it. Thank you for pulling a Miami. It’s been fun to watch.

Period that sheds light on what happened. They made a run at Lane who they knew wanted their job badly in 2020. They ofc were worried about Lane dominating them at UF (UF passed on lane to hire Billy Napier, his former colleague).

Lane told both places no. FSU considered Franklin for a beat but weren’t that interested in him although he very much wanted that job. Then they decided to put out that statement saying norvell would return as HC for ‘26 after it looked shaky for him for a bit. Rest was history

Honestly I think Manny would cost too much.... and I can't believe I just typed that... lol..... He's got a good gig at Duke... I mean it really fits him.....
Now on the other side of things I could see them making a play for Deion.... He's basically cooked at Colorado, the shine is gone.... They might be able to get him a lot cheaper than other coaches.... But who knows, that program ran itself down hard.... They got issues everywhere...
