Better players? Recruiting & accumulating talent is the least of his worries. Hasn’t developed an elite QB & *** puckers up in big games.I think he would be a good fit somewhere like North Carolina. He would be closer to better players.

No way PSU is paying nearly $50 million to make him go away. Cignetti would be the ideal option, but he’s 64 & not sure he’d leave Indiana at this point. Ruhl would walk to Happy Valley for the job, but no thanks.I think Franklin will be fired. I have mostly ignored anything about Franklin because I think he is filth and PSU deserved him. One short coach removed from coming off of pedogate, they hire a guy covering up rapes, tells you everything on their culture.
I would think Cignetti would be their guy. The whole **** Cignetti family (Dad, brother) are Western PA coaching giants.

They’ve had significant talent with the exception of QB. Also have facilities & resources on par or better than most top programs. That's fair.
His inability to sign/develop elite QBs has been his biggest problem, especially when you consider Pennsylvania and neighboring Ohio has a lot of local HS QBs who play at big-time schools. This and finding WRs. .
He needs to find better recruiting coaches but he is a good coach, IMO.
Idk...
The boosters at Penn ST have grown tired of him not being able to deliver in big moments & now that he's losing games against lesser opponents they're not going to be as patient anymore.
I hope it is Al Folden.Cignetti and Golden have to be the front-runners with Matt Campbell as the dark horse, IMO. Maybe a Brian Kelly looking to stay ahead of the LSU pressure.
