But, he did win 13 games at PSU last year & had them in the Semi's just 3 points away from the National Championship game, so it's not as though his rep is going to be completely destroyed by this downfall.

He'll still get a job somewhere else without much issue, it just probably won't be at a premier program.

He was too loyal to Allar. He let Pribula walk away and didn't bring in any competition. It was clear last year Allar wasn't able to carry the team at QB.

How many games will they even win at this point......

NIL & Portal has expedited the process of winning & building, which gives Boosters the impression they can buy a Championship & theoretically they can.

Which means, even for a Coach with a great resume like JF, will have a lot of pressure on him to deliver. Given that he usually loses big games & is now losing games he's supposed to win, that will be the catalyst they can use to justify moving on from him.

He's been there for 11 going on 12 years now; I would guess in their minds they've given him enough time.

Maybe it will be a "mutual parting". Depends on if he wants to hold out for the entire buyout.

This good Sir is entirely the point. They should have never been allowed to genuflect, then gloss over the horrific things that occurred there, by hiding behind “ We Are Penn State”. Without a complete exorcism of the Athletic Department, the fb program, the school, Admin and boosters, the whole f**king town is State College, and the 50 miles surrounding countryside. Only then could , and should there be a conversation about allowing their program and their lives continue in society. Start by digging up PaPa Joe and bury him in the paupers cemetery in an unmarked grave and take down that GD statue. Then lastly change your chant to “ We Are Repent State”. Sorry for the rant but they deserve it.🙌🏽…..P.S… So does ND and the Catholic Church, just sayin’
 
I think Franklin will be fired. I have mostly ignored anything about Franklin because I think he is filth and PSU deserved him. One short coach removed from coming off of pedogate, they hire a guy covering up rapes, tells you everything on their culture.
I would think Cignetti would be their guy. The whole **** Cignetti family (Dad, brother) are Western PA coaching giants.

True, but it doesn't have to be.

Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame and Penn State each have the opportunity to be the dominant program in the Rust Belt:

1) Nail the HC hire and retain top-flight OC's and DC's

2) Build up the NIL war chest until "we can't afford that player" never is an issue

3) Get in place an AD and administration who look the other way/vehemently defend "the program's culture" ... e.g. UGA's do-nothing approach to Kirby's players and their wildin' out behind the wheel

I think he would be a good fit somewhere like North Carolina. He would be closer to better players.
