Northwestern 22, Penn State 21

It should never be forgotten that they shouldn’t even be allowed to have a football program.

(y)

Of course the NCAA had to save the death penalty for things like Gold Trans-Ams

Speaking of criminal acts, any thoughts on both Michigan and Ohio State keeping team doctors on their sports medicine staffs who molested athletes for two decades?

Odd how that behavior at both schools was reported and then conveniently buried by ESPN and the like 🤔

Franklin is a good coach. He's taken Penn State as far as they can be taken in this day and age unless they bring in more money. It's not like they are Ohio State or Michigan. Franklin and Penn State need to go their separate ways.
Penn State’s problem is not tied to money.

James Franklin's problem was he stuck around too long at a program that has higher expectations than its actually capable of achieving.

He won a lot of games at PSU & was considered a hot commodity to the point he was even close to taking the LSU job in 2022 before Brian Kelly got the offer.

He should've struck while the iron was hot & left when he was at his pinnacle in terms of perception. The same mistake David Shaw made when stayed too long at Stanford, instead of leaving after 2016.

But, he did win 13 games at PSU last year & had them in the Semi's just 3 points away from the National Championship game, so it's not as though his rep is going to be completely destroyed by this downfall.

He'll still get a job somewhere else without much issue, it just probably won't be at a premier program.

James Franklin is done in Happy Valley.

He's absolutely getting fired.

Time to start back-channeling some of those Edge rushers & seeing how much they want in NIL.
He not getting fired after making final 4 a year ago, but he should.

Some place like Florida or VT might make sense. Maybe even UCLA.

Florida would be lucky to get Franklin he would raise the floor there big time and recruit even better players than he’s gotten at Penn

Idk...

The boosters at Penn ST have grown tired of him not being able to deliver in big moments & now that he's losing games against lesser opponents they're not going to be as patient anymore.
I think the wheels would have to fall off. 5-7 type season.

i dont think they gonna fire that boy...they may force some offensive changes but from here on out he has the @1 qb hurt excuse and he had them competitive last year with a good class locked in.

I think he from PA too so yea he likely safe.....if he was to get fired places like ucla would hire him in a second....stanford etc

Who could PSU get that would be better than Franklin? Doubt they fire him.
