Non-Vegas Sports Betting- It's Starting!

Vegas hates this.

Hopefully we can get online poker legalized for the rest of America too.

Vegas is spinning a narrative that they anticipated this and that this won't hurt their bottomline because people go there for the shows and the food and the blah blah blah.

Let's see their bottomline on Super Bowl Sunday and during March Madness.

Vegas is dying. I wonder what the over/under is on their water supply.

Their water supply - look at Lake Mead - it's dropping faster that breast-es-es on an old woman when she unshoulders her bra.

Sports gambling has been altered by online services and multi-state law changes.

Sports betting is a pimple on Vegas' elephant sized ***. Slot machines bring in more revenue than all other revenue sources combined. They will find a way to adapt, they always do.

True but sports betting was also the last vestige of their monopoly on gambling. Now they're just a bunch of hotels and shows and restaurants on a strip in a landlocked city that has no other redeeming qualities or culture and one that most people have to travel to by air.

Like I said, it's only a matter of time and/or the desire of a city in a more appealing and accessible locale to become the "new" Vegas. Especially if Malaysian and other non-Vegas companies/money decide to fuel the effort.

That was my point as well. I'm just not as eloquent as young Tad.

Vegas is dying. Their water supply is dwindling and so is their "sucker" supply. Laws like this only help erode the supply of suckers. Once the floor games are opened up legally to the rest of the states Vegas will dry up and disappear in the desert wind.

The Lake Mead Water Intake Towers at Hoover Dam looked like this when I was stationed there in 1999-2001:

They look like this now (on a good day)

Here's to hoping that the impending Great Water War between California, Arizona and Nevada is limited to only conventional weapons. @CaneFan79

March madness is a zoo here. It would probably hurt if CA opens up but the east coast probably won't matter. Vegas is still Vegas nothing like it anywhere in this country.

Lol, they have enough water for 100 years even if the dam closes. They put a pipe in the deepest part of the lake and only NV can use it. Vegas is still growing fast, not sure where you get your info, cheap to live here and CA people are flocking here. 2 million as of now with a 4 million build out, I'll be dead way before this place stops growing. Very easy place to live with solar unlike most of the country. Just got two pro teams, there is money all over this town big money.

Miamimarine you can disagree all you want but it's only because you are uninformed. NV only uses 3-4% of the water in lake Mead. We don't even use our allotment. CA uses over 60%, AZ somewhere in the 30's range. If the water to the dam dries up only Vegas will have water flowing with this tunnel. So only Vegas will be using that water. This won't happen when they put restrictions in place anyway. Farm area's in Yuma AZ and CA farmers use most of it. Gotta get that F up state of CA to start getting water out of the ocean to fix their problem. Vegas will most likely always have water because of their low use. There will always be a small water flow from the mountain melt even if the drought lasts forever. Also lake Mead is not the only place they get water from. Then you have the wells. You, I and the next few generations at the very least will be dust before Vegas runs out of water. Wells & Groundwater – Las Vegas Valley Groundwater Management Program

You really think with all the billionaire investments in Vegas they were going to let it run out of water? Nah, the rich are smart and planned accordingly. CA will be screwed because it's run by morons. Hover dam is not the deepest part of the lake not even close, the deepest part is where they put the bathtub drain in where we get our water from.

I can't wait to see all the idiots betting into -120 spread lines, while they celebrate legalized sports betting in their state.
