Tears Nole Tears (“Offcial”)

Than FSU long term? Absolutely not.

If you're a Head Coach signing up to FSU though you do want an iron clad 4 years to turn it around. No wavering by the AD and the boosters when you still suck in 2 years time. It's a complete "strip back to the studs" rebuild and evidently they have no money.
My thinking was right now and will be for the next two to four/five years. They are really financially handicapped.
Oh, and wrong chat! LOL

The financial issues just becoming public now is kind of amazing to me. I recall reading about FSU's Athletic Department being in the red almost twenty years ago when Bobby was still there.

I did a quick Google search to make sure I wasn't crazy and found these immediately:

- It's no secret that Florida State has been eyeing the Big 12 recently and a key reason is revenue, where the Seminoles rank 24th overall on the list for 2011. There hasn't been that much growth over the past couple of years, 17%, especially when you look around at others in the Southeast and consider close to 10% of FSU's budget is a subsidy from the school. It's also not a positive that the program hasn't turned a profit since 2008 and took in just $136,782 more than Virginia last year.

Though the FSU athletic department isn’t funded by state money, the department is still struggling financially. Ticket sales were down during football season when thousands of seats sat empty during games at Doak Campbell Stadium.

As a result, FSU was not able to meet its projected revenue of $15.9 million in football ticket sales. Overall, the athletic department projected before the 2008-09 academic year that it would generate $51.6 million in revenues — though it could fall significantly short of that.
