Yeah, unfortunately I think his health will prevent him from coaching much longer.

Hartline may surpass them.

My guess is it may be Manny and a couple of other G5 guys that no one is even thinking of right now.

Well, manny has to have a season at Duke without mensah. He went 7-5 WITH mensah, so the manny dream will likely come crashing down

FSU should no doubt go after Hartlin after this season. I can't imagine he'll win much at USF so FSU should be able to get him for cheap.

One other rumor that has been floating around is Fran Brown. Behind the scenes his team supposedly is looking around and FSU is one option.

I think those guys are probably as good as FSU can do.

Doubt they would be willing to hire a HC like Hartline with 1 year experience unless he wins the conference and is in contention for the G5 playoff spot. I doubt he comes close to that with the roster he has.
But man, having that clown Fran Brown at our big rival would be so much fun. Endless trash talk. But that would shock me really. I'm not sure if our Cane "brothers" on this board realize what FSU and UF fans say when it's just the pale faced people around but having a black HC in those towns doesn't go over well with most. Yeah, Willie was a disaster on the field and behind the scenes instantly, but they showed him the door as fast as they possibly could. Strong should have always been considered a candidate in Gville, but that was never going to happen. The amount of tongue biting they would have had to do there if they scored a miracle and hired Freeman away would have been epic.

I could see Fran Brown too. God, then we’d have to listen to him all year round though.

I could see it, but I also think they’re delusional enough to think that they are above a Fran brown level coach. It’s what will happen to the nanny train when he only wins 5 or 6 games this year.
 
Manny is 18-9 at Duke and there’s nobody I’d want FSU to hire more than him because I know he’ll never recruit good enough. It’s just that he’s not going to win 9 games again this year and FSU might sour on him. Duke’s non conference schedule has Tulane and Illinois (not pushovers) and their conference slate has us, Clemson and Virginia. They do get Wake, BC, UNC, Stanford and NC State which are all very winnable conference games. But expecting more than 6 wins might be a little too much to ask.
