I also keep seeing this idea from them pop up, that realignment will save them somehow. They’ll still have the same $$$ problems, just in the P2. Somehow they don’t realize that. They’re on track to be the next Rutgers or Nebraska more than anything else.

What they fail to understand is that if the B1G even considered them, they’d have to go in on a conference friendly deal like Oregon and Washington did where they receive less than half the payout. Oregon and Washington didn’t even receive enough distributions to buy out norvells contract, and both of those teams have actually been relevant in the last five years

At least when we hit bottom during 1997 season, it was culmination of dealing with loss of 40 something scholarships, and horrible PR including murder of player. Even so we were had gradual positive trajectory in recruiting and on-field results.
