They had 38 returning characters, but also added over 30 high school recruits (presuming some early enrollees) plus over a dozen portal players.
 
Read something interesting on Warchant yesterday ... apparently there is a legit riff between Norvell and Malzahn. Gus apparently wanted to leave but didn't find another job so he is staying. Norvell wanted to replace him but the administration said no. So we have a HC and OC that basically don't talk ... and you know all of that "environment" stuff is impacting the players as well. Talk about a toxic mess. The school had "outside consultants" reviewing their overall football program ... hence the hiring of a GM and VP of player acquisition. Plus they have NIL issues ... serious ones. Limited boosters with cash are turned off by the mismanagement of the program and have tightened the purse strings. Dumpster fire.
