The delusion is creeping back on that FsU board. Lots of talk of how UVA is the best offense they’ll see all year, we barely lost, trap game, etc etc.

We saw it last year. You can’t fix a bad defense in a week. And their defense is bad.

They just don’t have good players on defense. Especially up front. They don’t have a single guy who would start for us and maybe a handful of guys who would be in the rotation. They haven’t recruited well and the transfer portal guys they picked up are more suited for low P5 type teams.

That’s the late acc game that makes me nervous. Especially with the lack of byes by the stellar acc. It’s criminal if you look at other acc teams schedules.

They play 3 deep i dont see them having any answer for our blocking. Like none. And their DBs are terrible at man coverage. They will need to commit players to stop the run.

They play man and zone. I believe Beck will pick them apart in zone. If Dawson plays a tight WR rotation it will be harder to take advantage of them in man. In my opinion, we get better separation with a bigger rotation. 2 of our starters aren't good with seperation, but one of those is a boss with 50/50 balls. Beck is very good at ball placement with intermediate and short passes, where he will get them in zone. His deep and sometimes flat passes, need work. When he has no pressure, he can be really good. I will guess we double team Jackson at NT like UVA did and they get no pressure. They will try some blitzes and Beck should make them pay. I am sure they saved something not on tape to throw ar us. Everyone does.

You don't need to be fast to get separation vs man. CJ Daniels puts guys on skates in man with great route running. Not sure why people keep up this narrative that CJ can't get loose or we have some problem here. Keelan is the speed threat. Baby Jesus and CJ will cook all night vs man in intermediate routes. Beck just needs a dry ball to get it in there with timing and velocity.

I think Herb is correct. If FSU and Bama played today Bama would probably win comfortably. The whole team looked unprepared, and Simpson looked jittery and confused that entire game but has played much better since

They don't play much man. They're mostly a zone team. I think that plays into our hands. Where we struggle is against press man, I don't think we have the horses at receiver to win over and over again against good DBs (UiF, for example), but if you can't generate a pass rush and sit in zone, I expect our kids and QB to find soft spots for completions. I thought Chandler Morris got way too aggressive at times, but he still completed 74% of his passes on the (26 for 35).

Run the ball, control the clock, keep ahead of the chains, complete passes in soft spots of zones, and score points.
