Malzahn’s “hurry up”, fast paced offense has failed in recent years. He doesn’t scare anybody. When was the last time he actually had success as HC or OC for an entire season?

Those fast paced offenses work good when the offensive lineman are very good and the skill players are above average and elite at some positions. FSU has none of that. After Bama beats them week 1, they will look really good the next 2 weeks against those 2 scrubs and their fans will be raving about the offense. Can’t wait for Virginia or us to slap them back to reality.

Only thing he’s golng to accomplish is making his thin Dl roster get tired quick as we run the ball down their throats

Someone please post their thoughts on the zero star OL they just took a commitment from who is from England
Well, if they're going to take someone from England, can we respond and get this fellow?

He doesn’t even run a super fast offense anymore. UCF only ran 68 plays per game last year. They were one of the best rushing offenses in the nation though and they averaged 5.8 ypc despite nobody respecting the pass. Which is the problem with Gus’ offense and has been the problem since he was at Auburn. The passing game is never good. Part of the problem is he will almost always pick the better athlete at quarterback even if he can’t throw for ****. Jacurri Brown played quite a bit for him last year and was dynamic on the ground and worthless through the air. His passing concepts are outdated and one dimensional. Where an Air Raid is popular for only using a handful of plays from a bunch of different formations, Gus only uses a couple of formations and only runs a handful of plays. At best his passing offense does enough to keep the defense honest against the run but without an elite quarterback (FSU doesn’t have one) they will really struggle to throw the ball consistently.

One reason UCF was able to pad their rushing statistics is that they would often fall behind early and instead of trying to score quickly to get back into the game, they would continue to run the ball heavily and opponents would often just let them. They had chances to beat UF and Cincinnati but they played with no urgency. Almost like the were okay with keeping it close and not risking anything even if it gave them a chance to win.

Who is this "Jacurri Brown" of whom you speak?
