Norvall will have to start hiring staff immediately after the UF game just to salvage a recruiting class even if its filled with 3* kids. And on top of that, he almost has to hire guys on staff that have portal kids willing to follow them to FSU. Best case scenario at this point.

We've talked about going from first to worst as far as record.

Can't wait to see it in the recruiting rankings too.

Verse they saw when scouting to play syracuse and he was eating the syracuse (acc) tackles alive. When Verse entered the portal i was saying to offer him...we may have been two weeks or a week after fsu contacted dude iwthin 5 mins. They were always back channeling something we werent doing enough.

Fiske was lucky but an etablished player as well

Its sort of how i want us to target this portal class...starters and all conference types.

When I said lucky it wasn't about the players talent it's lucky in that they got all 3 instead of the other elite programs especially considering how they are now. My biggest thing has been this is the wild wild west now so what they did was an anomaly that you can't bet on when everybody wants those same elite players our secondary activity in the portal does need to be much much better though you're right

I’m expecting a much more aggressive approach to OV’s with portal guys this year with the cap on the number of visits being eliminated.

Based on Mike Norvell's wind sprint performance at practice today, FanDuel has flipped their line from Florida at +13.5 to FSU at +4.

everybody wanted the players THEN. They simply worked extremly aggressive and consistently back channelled guys in the portal or INTO the portal. Thats how they grabbed Darrell Jackson from us they had him locked in probably weeks before we even realized.

For some reason folks thing the portal is NEW....No kids could always transfer.

The issue is.......The portal isnt hs recruiting...it isnt playing the long game or the way Mario likes to do it. Its sa sped up form of recruiting...you get in to contact the kid (or back channel the kid) and get him an NIL offer or a ball park to see where its at thats before even a visit.

For example im going to use us as a case (if i was on the recruiting staff)
We lose a few edges....Mainly we lose Alston at that JACK SPOT. We have a guy currently progressing in Moten at dt....just so happens Moten has a close friend who plays end at Texas adjacent sec school and is a terror of the edge...There e should be no reason this kid shouldnt have a FEELER OUT CURRENTLY for that particular kid.

I can’t even put it into words how bad it is for Mike. They shouldn’t fired him, there is no recovering from this. They are now years behind.

He has no 2025 class. No portal kid will want to be there and his roster is straight 💩

You are correct, the Portal is not new.

However, certain coaches were "early adopters" (Prison Mike Norvell) and some coaches are "never Portalers" (Dabo).

I'm not knocking F$U working hard and being aggressive when the (not new) Portal exploded at first. But what I am saying is that F$U did not have the same rapid and aggressive COMPETITION from other schools that they NOW FACE.

You are also correct, the Portal is speed-dating. Mario's coaching hires and high school recruiting have shown him to prefer a long, romantic courtship. Perhaps we need to delegate the Portal game to another coach.

Anybody on his roster worth anything will leave to the largest NIL offer they can get, even if it means taking a pay for from the Noles.

What's happening at FSU is literally a sinking ship.
