Tears Nole Tears (“Offcial”)

You know, it's funny. I think Miami fans actually give more respect to Bobby Bowden for what he was than FSU fans do. The way they treated him to force him out of FSU football was incredibly shortsighted and disrespectful. They took that old man and threw him in the garbage. Nowadays you hardly ever hear about FSU fans talk about him.
Miami fans are also lucky we've never been forced to make that choice. Any coach who would or could have been legendary here has moved on. I do grant you that point, Bowden was treated worse than even Shula was down here on his way out.

UM fans like Bowden because he was our punching bag. Almost every time we played him with major implications, we won. Most of his wins against UM came in the mid-late 90’s when UM was on probation and nowhere near a title contender. The one time they won a big game against Miami was in 89 and it didn’t even matter because Miami won the national championship anyway. We owned them in the 2000’s even when our own team was slowly slipping into mediocrity, we could still beat up on ole Bobby. We love him and hate Jimbo because Jimbo won his first seven games against UM. That said, I hope they keep the current guy around for a decade.

Naw they are worse. Golden's teams had talent. The talent was just misused and wasted, but it was there. Many of our players from Golden's teams went on to the NFL. FSU seems to be lacking talent at the moment along with all their other problems.

Way worst...we took some bad bad losses during Goldens era...but really it was to the top teams we faced.

And Goldens teams at least started the games.

This FSU team quits before they even show up.

Bowden went 14-21 against Miami. They built a statue and have some weird stained glass window thing of a coach who went 14-21 against his rival. Also, most of those 14 wins were due to probation. We rarely lost to him when good.
You should see Butchs record vs fsu and vt.

6 of those 14 wins were in a stretch from 93-99 when they won 6 of 7 games against Miami.

Whether you like Butch or not, this is a loaded assessment. Butch took over a team in deep trouble and on probation. He turned the program into a juggernaught and would have beat FSU and VT many times after 2000 had he stayed.
He didnt get a raise because he couldnt beat his rivals so he went sniveling to the browns. Woulda coulda didnt.
