People really need to stop using recruiting rankings as an end-all for judging classes. Loading up on highly rated guys at non-need positions while ignoring needs will give you a pretty recruiting ranking but also a bad team. Florida State's roster is a huge mess regardless of what class ranking they were given.

Roster composition matters a great deal. Even if you believe the ratings 100% (which nobody does), it's easy to see how silly over-reliance on the pure ranking can be when you look at an extreme case. For instance, if f$u had the below as its 2019 class, they'd have a 292.06 rating on 247 (good for the No. 3 recruiting class ranking), but if they recruited that way two years in a row they'd get crushed by every team in the ACC.
