Tears Nole Tears (“Offcial”)

Mario wouldn’t have interest in Dawson year one. He got the guy he wanted in Gattis because running into a brick wall over and over was what Mario thought would win games. It was because Gattis failed so horribly in 2022 that Mario broke down and hired an Air Raid coordinator. Failing terribly that first year might have been the best thing that could have happened. If Gattis had been just average, we’d be Michigan right now struggling to score 17 points per game and hoping our defense could just shut out every opponent

Also other than maybe a neighbor kid for a lawn mowing job, who would hire someone named Jimbo ?

If they hire Manny, which doesn’t seem super likely to me right now, but who knows, wait until they find out what an absolutely horrible recruiter he is. That was his major failing in my view.

Take for example linebacker. Manny was supposed to be a specialist with respect to the linebacker position, and look at our linebacker recruiting from his first year onward. Absolutely horrific. He couldn’t land anybody. All the decent linebackers were signed prior to his tenure as head coach.
They will claim in this new era of Hoosiers, high school recruiting is secondary to portal recruiting and Manny has had success there.

I’m not delusional, if Mario didn’t play here he wouldn’t have entertained us for a second. And that’s FSU’s biggest issue. There’s really no elite coach or recruiter who would accept the daunting prospect of rebuilding that place. As good as Schumann or Weiss could be, they’ve never been HC before. So it’s a gamble. No sitting P4 coach with real success is leaving for that place. The most “successful” coach who could land there is realistically probably Manny. And as good, by Duke standards, as he’s been he wasn’t good here. I also think it will be a difficult sell to that fanbase taking the guy we fired to get the coach that restored us. They are in a horrendous situation and I’m going to enjoy watching that place implode.
On top of that, they dont have the funds to pay two buyouts. They have to buyout Norvell, and if they wanted to pull a coach away from another school they would have to pay that buyout as well. They just dont have it.

You know the old saying …you can want in one hand and **** in the other and watch which one fills up the quickest….kind of applies with FSU.
This is a disturbing saying that in all my years I have never heard, but now that I have, I can think of no better application than FS:****:

From the thread of them trying to convince themselves that Manny would be a good hire 😭
The last time Cristobal faced Diaz, Miami dropped 50+ on his team. He spent the National Championship postgame conference wiping the floor with Manny saying he left the UM program a complete mess. Then he went out a few weeks later and stole Manny's $4M quarterback with a better deal and the promise of a better team and trajectory. If FSU does fire Norvell, best case scenario is to hire this loser. FSU fans are in such **** they're convincing themselves this guy would turn things around.

I used to sort of respect them during the 1970s and 1980s because like us, we were upstart independents slaying the so-called Blue Bloods and
I appreciated our Florida athletes staying home (UM) or at least remaining in state.
But it all changed after we got hit with sanctions, watching how sanctimonious POS Bowden, his staff and fans handled and exploited our troubles.
Eff them and their kinship BS.
And they did it again with Folden. Telling recruits we would get the death penalty. Our fans have amnesia. I remember and feel that shyyt like yesterday. I hate them and the lizard equally. Change the jerseys, same feeling. And both will gang up to go against us as well.

Yall see all the bull mario had and has to do to get us to the top of the recruiting. How many schools he has to constantly battle for recruits, how much resources it takes, how many set backs with players we thought we would get, how the on field results affect that. All that is what it takes for FSU to be anything close to what they want to be. I dont care who they hire, if the spending and organizational restructuring doesn't happen, more L's....then the coach has to be good.

His buyout is between 6-8 million and he’s only got this year and next year left on his deal, With having Taylor and winning some games (especially South Carolina this weekend), wouldn’t surprise me to see a midseason contract extension.
Just passing along what I hear on the mean streets of Las Olas and Water Street.
