Jimbo left when he did because they didn’t have money enough to get him what he needed as far as paying coaches and facilities and now he’s gonna come back now when they have even less money and now you need even millions more to compete through NIL….I know he has all the money he needs now but coming back to a situation way worse than when you left is crazy to me if he does it.

I could be wrong, but in my opinion I think they're kicking the can down the road until they leave the ACC for the P2. If Norvell doesn't get fired during this season, I 100% see him coming back another season. Like you've pointed out, where is all this money coming from? Is FSU in such dire straits that they're willing to wait it out over 5 million dollars?

I've said it in this thread before, but Florida State picked the absolute worst time in college football to be behind the 8 ball when it comes to program resources. Like I would not be surprised in the slightest if FSU becomes the next Nebraska in college football. Maybe not as down bad as Nebraska due to the recruiting grounds inertia of being in Florida, but at a point as a program that they cannot get over the hump of hiring a top elite coach and putting up the necessary money for him and his support staff.

Been trying to raise the money to get rid of him. It’s not a secret.
 
If I’m an FSU big shot I’m trying to send as many fine women Novells way as I can find and pay for so maybe they can get him compromised, then fire him for cause. Or just go old school Police style and plan a couple bags of crack in his office.

We caught lightening in a bottle. We got lucky as a ****house mouse as well when we hired Dawson and then Heatherman. That was the proof of concept we needed, not only for boosters, but recruits as well. You can throw all the money you want at players, but if they aren’t bought in to the system in place, you’ll have what Texas A&M had under Jimbo. A #1 recruiting class that never even made a conference championship, much less a playoff appearance.

Not sure if it is the same injury/knee but he had a knee issue last year and most thought he would need surgery. Which is why most teams balked at $$ demands, but of course FSU paid lol.

There is nothing more expensive than sucking. It's a vicious cycle that is harder to get out of than into.

Let's be honest, it is the fans who are going to pay for the ineptitude of the administration. Budget services and increasing costs for fans. Trying to pass cost increases through to fans with a trash product on the field risks losing them all together. Put a winner on the field and people will pay out the nose happily... (Holy F@$k my ND tickets $$$). Also... how much money did that playoff run generate for Miami? 32 million? ACC payouts for higher viewership?

If finances are tight, they cannot afford to suck. They should pay the suck tax and pay up. What weak *** adminstrations tend to do is play G5/coordinator lottery and convince themselves they'll have anything better than random chance at finding the next up-and-coming wunderkind on the cheap.

Thank god CMC was the right guy, because if he wasn't we would probably never get to where we are now. Theres no going back once you make a move like we did.

I don't fully agree with you on the coordinators point. Mario didn't just get "lucky" making those hires. He has a very extensive and thorough process for hiring, and brought in the right guys because of that.

It was likely very hard to assemble an initial coaching staff in such a short window. He had so much on his plate with the complete uprooting of our program. Maybe the guys he wanted initially just weren't able to take the job at the time. Maybe we didn't have the talent yet to attract better options.

Theres also a very good chance his early hires were never expected to be long term. Not very many good coordinators want to coach a roster without talent. Dawson even said this offseason that the reason he and most of our current coaches love coaching at Miami is because they get to work with the talent that CMC brings in. I doubt Dawson or Heatherman would have accepted the job in year 1.
