At the end of this all, it simply doesn't matter whether 24 teams are "too much" or "not enough".
The reality is that the "bowl games" must end, and be replaced by games that actually mean something. Games that people will watch, even if the matchups are not as stellar as "Big 12 Number 6 vs. ACC Number 7".
Yes, that means a lot of 8-4 teams. So what. The NCAA has finally realized what I've said for decades, that the bowl games are absolute crap. Sure, some of the bowl games are more creative than others, the Pop-Tarts/Cheez-It productions are better than most. But that's no justification to continue scrapping for desperate sponsors for such games as the Gronk Bowl and the Jimmy Kimmel Bowl and the Poulan Weedeater Bowl (in the middle of winter, really?).
Kill the conference championship games, kill the bowl games, make every post-season game count.
**** it if some of the games turn into blowouts. Is that sooooo different from "Rivalry Week"? Or Army-Navy? Or most bowl games?
