Of course their players are going to try to squeeze every penny they can get out of them. What else is FSU going to offer? The chance to be 4-8? Bottom of the barrel coaching that will make sure every NFL team ignores you on draft day? A degree that can get you a job as an assistant fry cook? You’d have to pay me a **** ton of money to play there too. Because after college your chances for making money are gone.

Pretty much nailed it.

A number of these guys have to take the following approach: extort F$U for soooo much money, that F$U is forced to use that player on every down. Then, rack up the stats and make your case to 32 NFL teams that they were "great players on a terrible team" and should not be penalized for failing to achieve any team goals.

It's a natural progression when you have a head coach that the school can't afford to fire.

"Come on, team, MEET YOUR CONTRACTUAL OBLIGATIONS!"

And of course resources are finite (as they are everywhere). What $15M (?) could maintain in a roster last year won’t go as far now because of players demanding more - perhaps much more - to stay. FSU could find itself like a poorly managed pro team, with most of their salary tied up in a handful of players and losing talent overall rather than replenishing it.

Shows the kind of lazy ***** that FSU is recruiting. A decent human being would not want to stay there and half-*** it, knowing they don’t have to try hard and that they will get easy money. Plus, they will miss out on development. If I’m an NFL GM, I don’t want to draft that kid.
