Typical “we don’t really want him” responses. They’re also magically going 9-3 despite having a potentially worse roster than last year. Those guys are going 7-5 at best.

I have them at 8 wins in a realistic best case scenario, and that’s contingent on Castellanos staying healthy.

I don't see how they can win 8 games. They're losing to Miami, Bama, Clemson and Florida unless Lagway gets hurt again. You think they run the table vs all the other opponents? I think they go 5-7 to 7-5, most likely 6-6 then lose in a bowl game.

Again, it was a most optimistic scenario. I don’t think FSU as a whole was nearly as bad as the 2-10 record. Defensively it wasn’t a two win team. It held our record breaking offense largely in check for a while. Not to say that it was good - it wasn’t. Just not absurdly bad like the offense.

And The offense was historically bad. And no defense is going to perform well when your offense is constantly going three and out.

IF their quarterback stays healthy and performs well - and takes a leap from last year in performance - I could in a best case scenario see:

(L) Alabama
(W) East Texas A&M
(W) Kent State
(W) Virginia
(L) Miami
(W) Pittsburgh
(W) Stanford
(W) Wake Forest
(L) Clemson
(W) Virginia Tech
(W) NC State
(L) Florida

Fair arguments. IMHO, I think he loses to two out of three of Virginia, Pitt, and NC State, as well. Virginia is a trap game for them.

Solid points

Are Va Tech and NC State that much worse than last year?

Their schedule makes 6-6 very possible. They play an FCS team and the worst FBS program in back to back weeks. Virginia, Stanford and Wake are the three worst ACC teams. An upset over Pitt or NCST would make them bowl eligible and likely keep Norvell around for another year. Which, for me is the ultimate goal. If he gets fired, they might luck into a good coach. I know Mike Norvell is ***. The longer he’s in Tallahassee, the worse their program is.

Totally agree. Let them win their cupcakes and get shredded by us, Bama, Clemson, UF but delude themselves into thinking the future is bright.
