I'm trying not to be hyperbolic, but I can't think of a better word than this to describe FSUs current situation: apocalyptic.

You've got a 1-7 (1-6) team that is coming off a two year 23-4 run. They've got UNC, ND, Charleston Southern, and Florida left. Notre Dame beats them easy, and UF does too imo. UNC also has the edge against them and they beat CSU, they go 2-10 (1-7) for the year. I cannot recall such a quick collapse for a program. It's remarkable. Not to mention they have the #32 class right now and no momentum in recruiting.

Unfortunately for them, they also can't get rid of Norvell. His buyout is Jimbo Level A&M high, and they are stuck with him until the end of the 2026 season imo. He's gonna need to clean house and go all out in the portal to get them back to respectability next year (which was the strategy that created the problems he faces today). The HS recruiting is never going to be what it needs to be to catch up.
 
I genuinely don't know what Norvell can do to turn things around up there. It's YEAR FIVE and it's going to be his THIRD LOSING SEASON at FSU. Record is literally 3-7, 5-7, 10-3, 13-1, and probably going to be 2-10. He's never closed strong in recruiting and all their HS guys have been busts. I just don't understand how they could whiff so bad in the portal and in HS recruiting. I thought they'd be a 7-5/8-4 team this year but ****. As terrible as we've been the past 20 years, they've had five losing seasons in the last seven seasons. That's just mind blowing.

Mike's going to have to go all out in the portal next year, which created the problems he has now in the first place. He's always going to go for the band aid solution, because he cannot recruit at a high enough level.

They're averaging 15 points a game. Their highest offensive output was a sparkling 21 points in Week 1.

Can they beat Charleston Southern?

CSU is terrible. They're 1-7 and have lost to some awful FCS teams. Who knows, anything could happen, and 1-11 would be hilarious.

I just don't see how Norvell comes back from this. He's gonna have to raid the portal next year and hope those evals actually work out. Luckily for him, Sexton pulled the heist of the century in getting him extended. FSU cannot afford to fire him for the next year at a minimum, probably two years in reality.

If FSU has $18M in NIL, they probably need to spend at least half of that next season on bringing in the absolute top transfer quarterback. They will have to severely overpay given a likely 2-10 record. And they might have to look into getting not only a top one year rental, but potentially a strong prospect with multiple years. But that’s going to leave little left for the offensive line portal players themat they will need, as well as other positions.

I would make them pony up to keep what they for now on there team . They have a few dbs we should try to steal from them ☠️☠️

There's a few guys that could get into the portal which are interesting. They definitely have some DBs that are not bad.

The huge question mark is whether Lagway jumps into the portal. If he does, we need to go hard at him. I doubt he will though, he seems like a guy who's pretty committed to UF regardless of who the coach is.

We def need some dbs . He best dbs are brown and Mack and I would start play Patterson more . One name I haven’t heard mention is Robinson wr .

It's apparent why we swung so hard in the portal at DB, and how much missing could hurt us. We have serviceable guys (despite JH7 who is unplayable for the most part), but we need to load up on DB.
