Not a chance. Deion is considered top 3 CB of all time but he isn't respected for his coaching acumen or work ethic.
:100:

Is nobody here even remotely familiar with Deion? He is the greatest cover corner ever, not because of some heralded work ethic but because he won the genetic lottery. He and Jerry Rice got into it all the time because he hated working and relied on his talent instead.

It also makes him a bad evaluator and coach, he probably can't even put into words what made him so good, it was just Zeus granting him a 4.2 40. There are parallels to MJ being the best to ever do it but struggling in a management/evaluator position.

I went to the same HS as Prime....I remember him at 13yrs old, coming out to practices at NFM HS......Playmaker AND Rice ate his lunch in the Pros, more often than not. He didn't cover Irvin in college, he covered Brian Blades because of Blades speed. Irvin was wayyyyyy to strong for him.

That is why great players do not always make great coaches because a lot of times what made them great is not something that can be taught.

In todays passing heavy game primes tackling would have been less of an issue and he would have had even a bigger impact on the game
At his prime no one was better

ST was right there with Reed IMO. Ed might have been smarter but ST was a better athlete.
i love ST but man he wasnt close to ed reed
he may have ended up that being as good bc he was taken too quickly but career comparison esp in nfl isnt close
