Nobody feels sorry for us

Will ultimately be a good thing for us in the long run. Everybody will feel the need to shoulder the load of no Mali. Other guys will get plenty of targets and have to grow up. Barkate has a chance to return to Duke form. O line will be forced to step up. Defense will feel the pressure to step up.

That is of course *if* Dawson doesn’t go into his shell and not give the offense a chance to make that happen and *if* Mali is able to come back healthy. And obviously *if* we make the playoffs and are still playing when he’s available to return.

Wingo: why are we scared to see his talent shine? Last year, on a critical play in the championship game, we threw a screen to Josh Moore. It failed, but if we can try that in that spot, to a true frosh, surely Wingo can get a chance against lesser secondaries.


Jacobs: There is no reason to think a guy who torched Clemson’s secondary in 2025 is unable to stress a depleted ND secondary, Duke, BC, and VT. Give the guy a genuine chance to do what he has ALREADY done against top competition.

Then there’s the team we’re playing who has 4-5 guys possibly out this week and some for season.

There’s no replacing Mali but in a weird way maybe this takes pressure off the team and galvanizes guys. I’ve seen things like this workout in the short term. Us against the world type motivation.

The defense has already been getting trashed by fans and media (rightfully so). On top of that most had us already losing this game. Now we really have no shot and we lost our entire team with Toney injury. If this culture and team is what we think it is they should be chopping at the bit to step up and prove folks wrong. It’s called house money.

It’s game nine so guys like Spafford and Wingo are no longer Freshmen . It’s your time and this is why you come to a program like Miami.

Yes ,odds are stacked against the team but as I said I’ve seen weird things happen to a team facing adversity. On top of that nobody gives a **** or feels pity for Miami. Just like we didn’t for FSU when they lost Jordan Travis. Injuries are part of the game. Now shoot to survive until Mali comes back.

I would have been more concerned if we lost our qb for 4 weeks . Defense is getting trashed because our dc been schooled and he’s hasn’t found answers . He needs to grab his sack and man up . Replace People, all year long everyone said one and smith shouldn’t be on the field together esp passing downs . They continue to get exposed . He continues to do it , I’m just wondering Is he retarded ?

I like were we are if the OL and DL play Mario ball. Mensah is still Mensah. Dawson slots get fed no matter who you are. Heck, we get to see if upshaw is that guy for his senior year.
 
Either the team steps up or they don’t. Sucks for Mali, but the team still got a game to play.

Would like to see Upshaw at the slot, Barkate, and whoever steps up. Don’t think we have a true X WR. But I would expect more rotation with Wingo, Jacob’s, and Spafford.
