Except beating an *** FSU team doesn't help Miami in the playoff discussion. You need to beat as many quality ranked teams so you don't get shafted by the playoff committee.

Beating a good FSU team doesn’t help us with the playoffs if we get crushed by Clemson, and the only way we are beating Clemson is with elite talent. FSU being *** makes us getting elite talent just a little bit easier...... I will never root for them even if my argument didn’t make any sense, luckily for me it does 😀

FSU is garbage at this point, win out and beat Clemson (which is not easy right now) and you're in the playoffs. FSU didn't need Miami to be good when they won in 2013.

We're more likely to be able to beat Clemson down the line if we can start keeping more of the state of Florida recruits that choose FSU over us. Don't care if FSU never revives. I'll be happy with the better recruiting options and winning the ACC.

Maybe they just like to cheer for FSU.

Technically he’s right. He shot the guy in the head, but the guy lived. Right in the middle of the street in Gainesville. And everybody knows it.
 
The SOS argument is meaningless when it comes to wanting a "good" FSU team on our resume.

An undefeated or 1 loss ACC champion is guaranteed a playoff spot. You win the SEC/ACC you're in automatically.

The PAC-12 & B1G need to have a strong SOS in order to get in, because the committee doesn't respect those conferences.

He killed lots of other people though so in the end it really doesn’t matter. The only reason the guy he shot in Gainesville survived is because it might’ve been a low caliber bullet that traveled and then just didn’t hit in the right spot in his head. He’s lucky that guy didn’t die. But of course the University of Florida athletic department, Urban Meyer, Jeremy Foley, and the Gainesville Police Department covered it all up anyway.

Yup. Times have changed, we don't need it to be like the late 90's/early 2000s where that SOS played into factor with the BCS. Just win your conference with an undefeated or 1-loss record and you're good.
 
Not sure which thread it was but classic that Bobby Bowden flashed the U, even he has given up on Willie
