We have no idea what his buyout is. Golden got a really long extension, and they may have given him a shorter buyout in return for such a long extension.

Theres also a big difference between not wanting to pay someone, and not being able to. When the balance scale gets tipped too far to one side, it's time for action. I thought Golden earned himself enough credit in the past with the admin to get through this season before things got too dicey. But after the bowl game, PSU scandal, and now this.....he's got pressure. We can pay the money if it means not being embarrassed anymore, no doubt in my mind.
