No to Applewhite

I'm not in any way saying that Larry Fedora is not the top choice, but for the people melting down over Applewhite, or any coach, there will be weak data points to go with the strong.

For any of his positive traits, Fedora left absolutely nothing at quarterback at UNC and got fired for being a putrid team, including on offense, these past two seasons. Not exactly a ringing sign of success.

You guys better get cozy with Applewhite as he is the #2 choice, wants the job, and clearly Fedora is waiting for an attractive HC job before accepting our offer. Obviously, we all want Fedora to be the OC.

I dont want Fedora. The way he recruited and handled QBs these past 2 years was very much as bad as Richt.

His offenses have trended down since 2015.

Sure he used to be pretty good but Applewhite has been better recently and also would bring better recruiting connections

The U should do better in TX, especially in the Houston area.

To play devil's advocate, you can make a case that defenses have adjusted significantly to what Fedora brings to the table. His recent offensive performances at UNC was not spectacular. His QB evaluations cost him his job.

On the other hand, pretty much this entire board has had a hard-on for Briles. Applewhite would run his offense quite similar in that he moves his guys outside of the hash in order to open up the middle of the field which is where I think we all agree Miami speed and talent has been most underutilized. He also uses a lot more formations than what Fedora showed.

And for the record, I'm good with either one.
