At some point one or two Maude’s are going to decide that they’ve had enough and they are going to want to take the board back and if they come to me, I’m going to jump right on with them and ban and wreak havoc with a fury on people like that who have made this place what it’s turned into where honest discussion can’t be held without the belittling and all of that. But right now I’m just tired of it. And yes my friend, it’s why those you named and the others you’re thinking about don’t post as much. No one wants to deal with the MariBro attacks except for like Cway and Angry Ibis and those dudes are superhuman

He thinks it’s a 7 win team. Ok. Good for him, he’s entitled to his opinion. Thankfully in the year of our lord 2025, we can wager American dollars on such things. If he, or anyone else on planet earth, is completely convinced this team will stink and win 7 games, they have a very lucrative opportunity.

Fair enough. I’m not interested in spiking the ball in your face if you’re wrong. I’m guessing we both hope you are. I tell ya, maybe I’m way off, but the panic about the roster isn’t resonating with me. I appreciate that the spring portal hasn’t gone as well as expected, but also think this is a very good football team.

100 man, I don’t want to be right and I was going to say I wasn’t going to be looking for you if the season goes that way. I don’t see how we get past 9 wins in a better situation with some of the players we need and aren’t getting. I just think it’s a 7 or maybe 8 win team as is constructed today. I can go with 8 I guess if we get haulcy. I don’t see the horses on offense and I’m terrified of the front 7 on defense, particularly up the middle.

7-8 as the team is constructed now is my opinion, and just my opinion, based on the talent we lost with the roster we have and our coach’s record over the last 4 years.

I’m just a big believer in quarterback and line play. If you’re above average there, it’s honestly really hard to be ******. Obviously a lot more to the game than that, in total. But it starts there for me. Ask FSU, they’ll tell you all about it.

I don’t even really have a full take about this team yet, honestly. For one, the roster isn’t set. Two, all of this nonsense is all wasted bandwidth if Beck isn’t right. So until I see or hear someone I trust tell me they saw him hit his back foot and rope a football to the sidelines from the far hash, I’ll have my breath held. If he’s not 100.0%, this team isn’t winning anything significant.

I’m really more just baffled at the total mood shift in the board over the last week. Were people really convinced we were pulling some slew of make or break players from the spring portal? Or maybe it’s just my perception. Just seems almost every thread recently is riddled with total negativity and I’m not entirely sure why. I guess people really thought Jeremiah Smith was coming or something?

Anyway, we’ll see how the team looks in the summer. None of this matters in the least if Beck isn’t ready, and quickly.

And you’re entitled to it. I tend to disagree, but i just posted my full thoughts a minute ago. Obviously I have some concerns but I don’t think are many fans of any program right now who don’t.

Also, for the record, our coach has only been here 3 years. And he won 5 games, then 7, then 10. Seems like a positive trend, but what the **** do I know? Obviously going back to 7-8 would be unacceptable.

I hear you and agree with you on the Oline and QB play for sure. I just can’t see it working out for us as we seem to be cursed with always having a massive gaping hole(s) on the roster that cost us at least a game or two we shouldn’t lose.

As far as the bolded. I would say, yes. That is due to many insiders alluding to the fact that we were going to make a huge splash. Yet there’s nothing but a wet fart this spring.

@Hurracanes has been very vocal about it recently. The other huge downer is that we have a supposed top 5 NIL program yet I would not consider this a top 5 roster. There’s just way too much head scratching disfunction from Mario and co to believe that this year will be anything other than another disappointment.

I personally believe that in year 4 of Mario and him being given top 5 resources in the nation we should expect nothing less than an ACCCG and a playoff appearance. I just don’t see the roster living up to that expectation.

He couldn’t get to the ACCCG with Cam Ward, that schedule and this conference. We’ll see.

I don't think a shift happened. I think people have been reasonably waiting on the roster to be set to make any definitive predicting. Now that the portal is closed and some hopes and dreams have been adjusted, this is a clearer picture of what we have this year.

Based on what? Y’all dudes really don’t believe in players getting better or young players stepping up. Where are these massive holes that’s going to cripple the season?

There is no hole on this team that’s like cb last year. That room lacked talent and depth.

Wr has talent get them to show it. Lofton is supposed to be this big time versatile player well show it.

Scott was a 5 star so let see what he can do. Blay was a top 5 DT in the portal so prove it. We don’t have an all American as the 4th DT ok so what. Jones and simpson step tf up. I

LB has enough to at least be respectable. You can’t name any of Minnesota LBs and they had a top defense.

Plenty of talent at cb. Safety lacks depth but there are other guys who can play safety if need be.

The constant crying y’all guys do like the team is in such bad shape and is missing so much is ridiculous. We know this isn’t a championship team. The goal is to build consistency and to try and win this shîtty conf at least 1 time

with respect to the 8-4 crowd, i think you are underestimating having a first or second day nfl pick as our starting qb. if beck merely averages what he's previously shown the last two years, and he played with last years defense, we win 8 games. i'm bullish on our defense actually being a strength. 15-0. LFG.
 
I can be too optimistic sometimes, but the negativity on here is astounding considering our biggest failures of 2024 were resolved in the winter window - which is now being forgotten in the spring window

The gaps we have our less significant than last year. People were worried about not having a #1 WR going into last season too and EVERYONE knew our DBs were trash. No unit on this team is as weak as our DBs were last year

I think 9-10 wins is where we sit, anyone saying 8 won’t hear much from me as everyone gets an opinion, those claiming 6 are just mopes or trolling.

our DB room is already better, our LB room with Toure is at least the same if not better ( better because of scheme), our DL room is seemingly taking a step back but we have young 5* recruits, do we expect to go to the portal and then lose them? Let them earn their stars. I think we’re fine on defense and overall a better talent unit and WAY better schematically.

Offense obviously is the rub. Im higher on Beck than most though. I think what’s happening, and its valid - is people seeing cam ward leave and go #1 overall and thinking how the **** can we be going we weren’t even good with him, again that’s fair

But the defense was atrocious and Beck, Hetherman, and this new secondary (probably best in ACC (definitely best with Haulcy) - should be able to accomplish the same if not more as the 2024 crew because we don’t have the DC anchor in Guidry .

WR will be fine, similar to DT we have young talent that needs to play. There’s a reason recruiting still exists and it’s not just portal szn every day.

My main concern is the TCU center, Beck’s arm, and if Hetherman is as good as as we hope. If those three things pan out I think we win 10 even with our schedule and I truly think that’s not being a homer

Get Haulcy, get Toure, and get Beck and the C on the same page and I’m excited for the first canes season with my son who’s 6 weeks old and doesn’t know the unfortunate life he’s been sucked into 😎
