No one will be hired at Miami until January

I was at the lunch and concur. This administration is not going for an up and coming coach or an assistant they are aiming for the stars. I love that they are committed to reviving the football program to a top tier program, and that they are willing to spend to meet that goal. I was very impressed with Korn Ferry and don't count Butch out, he has the backing of lots of BOT members and Golden canes. One other thing, after today's lunch I believe Mario has zero chance of getting this job.

Of course but I doubt they'd wait unless there's some agreement in place. If it's not a definite they'd have to move on.

Those aren't the options though. And we should have a deal in place and a back-up plan. Not for nothing, don't you have a slightly different bias.

Hopefully they are smart enough to get some type of agreement from an NFL coach before waiting till everyone else is already gone. As others have stated though, Butch is always there as a back up plan. That could be Miami's move. Go all in for Chip or some other NFL guy and just hold their *** if the NFL guy says no that But h will still accept.

My guess if they are willing to wait it's cause they have a good sense of who they want to hire and that there is mutual interest.

To mitigate the delay in recruiting they can leak that said NFL coach is going to be the next Miami head coach.

Apparently another poster on TOS was at the Golden Canes Luncheon today to meet with the search committee with a bunch of other donors. He said that Blake was adamant about a big name coach, money not being an issue as he will compete with the big boys, and the decision wont go past January.

This makes me happy about Chip. Its ******* happening fellas!!!!!

Won't 'go past January' and 'until January' can mean two different things.

They said up to $6 million but Chud will only cost $2.5 million the same as Golden and the results won't be much different. Chud has been a head coach for like 9 months of his life and has a 4 win 12 loss performance. Hardly what Stuart Miller promised....
