No media at Greentree right now?

I’ll never understand people in the know or with direct knowledge of supposed information telling others said information that they deem super duper confidential then getting mad when it’s repeated.

Idgaf if media is allowed at practice or given post practice access. Just win. If you win you can wear shower shoes with fungus and nobody will care.

Not sure. They may take a cue from the fandom, which is dominated by people who DGAF about progress and more double digit wins.
Here's my opinion which you are free to disagree with:

I would rather keep the media semi-happy and have them as allies than ostracize them. That doesn't mean I share game plans with them. It doesn't mean I open practices to them. It does mean that I allow players to do interviews face to face. It also means that I open portions of practices up to the media, like Mario did for a while. I look at the media like I look at cops - I don't want to **** either group off because it does not work to my advantage.

I also do not coach D1 football.

I’m on the side of providing some access to reporters for the reasons mentioned above. While winning solves all ills, it’s important to keep the fans engaged.

I used to attend the opening week of practices every year from 1990 to 2000 or so. I would park at Hecht and walk onto Greentree with zero resistance. You could watch practice from the sidelines next to the players. There were no roped off or restricted areas. I would stay for 60 mins or so and then arrive to work late with some made up excuse. The one downside is that you had to bring an extra shirt in the car ‘cuz you were drenched by 9:00 am.

I remember meeting Eric Reid (voice of the Miami Heat and big ‘Canes fan) among other local regulars during those practices. One could chat with Golden Canes and boosters who would provide insight on recruiting and player development. Even the assistant coaches would nod in approval after seeing you for 7 consecutive days standing on the field watching the team drill and scrimmage.

Miss those days…

I heard on a podcast this am that the media is essentially off limits at Greentree for the foreseeable future. Even player interviews are only being permitted via Zoom. I don't know if this is for all outlets or not, but the folks on the pod made it seem as though no media is permitted. Generally speaking I am not a fan of the media and I also understand the disdain that Mario (and all coaches to a point) has for the media. However if Mario comes up short again, these tactics of treating the media like horse puckey is going to really work against him with the fan base. I hope for his sake and our's, we win. Winning will make this a moot point. Not winning will make Mario out to be a control freak dikwad, which admittedly he probably is but it's just tolerated (and oftentimes applauded) when the team is winning.

Can anyone confirm if these media restrictions are in place for all?

@RVACane — How can I change my username to “Horse Puckey”

Bolded part is what I was insinuating when saying keep media in your pocket.

Which would be a lie. But every coach would do the same exact thing.
I hope its a lie. Its coach speak... but I wonder if Mario has bought into the coach speak all of these years and actually doesn't game plan until game week. We play like that's what is going on.

But that pre-dates Mario

I won’t take it personal. This is about the team, not about me. Plus most of our legacy media wants to see us fail.

crazy we not gonna know who hurt or healthy prob like hr before kick off against gayturds …

Everybody gonna see emory Williams on field first and freak the **** out 🤣
Speaking of Emory, we can forget about ever getting legitimate injury news from Mario after he was successfully able to keep TVD’s injury for the Clemson game out of the news until a couple of hours before kickoff. IMO that’s one instance in where the strategy was a success

They were also supposed to release the first 4 episodes of the 'Canes Camp' series on YouTube on August 14. We've only seen 2.

I don't care for the media and they have their own agendas but total closure and secrecy for a mediocre operation is laughable.
Why would they release all 4 episodes at once? That would be a pretty dumb rollout.
Releasing them once or twice a week makes 10x more sense.
