No media at Greentree right now?

I heard on a podcast this am that the media is essentially off limits at Greentree for the foreseeable future. Even player interviews are only being permitted via Zoom. I don't know if this is for all outlets or not, but the folks on the pod made it seem as though no media is permitted. Generally speaking I am not a fan of the media and I also understand the disdain that Mario (and all coaches to a point) has for the media. However if Mario comes up short again, these tactics of treating the media like horse puckey is going to really work against him with the fan base. I hope for his sake and our's, we win. Winning will make this a moot point. Not winning will make Mario out to be a control freak dikwad, which admittedly he probably is but it's just tolerated (and oftentimes applauded) when the team is winning.

Can anyone confirm if these media restrictions are in place for all?

I forget who but someone said this was essentially true and it was related to "personnel" Miami did want leaked out as it was important and we wanted it hidden. Wish I could remember who said it because IMO it was a good poster that does not just throw ish against the wall.

I dont think clarity was ever given but the rumors after that assumed it meant 1. injury issue or 2. they were shuffling the lineup and wanted to keep it a secret.

He knows how huge this game is for the program. I'm sure trying to prevent any news regarding injuries or players limited getting to the gators. We win it's not that big of deal. However, we fall short he deserves whatever criticism that's thrown his way.

I guess I am a little confused on why there would be so much criticism? Like if the media had access do they think it would have changed the outcome? Or because we lost the theory is F it if we were going to lose anyway should have had media there for stretching and the first 10 minutes so we get 5 second videos of who looks good going through drill? IDK what the alternative anger or criticism would be?

"the media" is your eyes and ears on the team and keeps them accountable for the BS they put out there. "I am not a fan of the media" reinforces the idea that the teams and fans don't need news coverage which is totally incorrect.

Ah so you're a budding journalist working in media?

Feel free to speak for yourself. "I am not a fan of the media" because most of it is looking for clicks, likes, shares, etc and doesn't give a F what the fallout may be. Slow your roll on putting words in my mouth and thoughts in my head. I have plenty of personalities on my own thank you.

Spot on. If we win then it’s genius. We keep sucking and it just looks weird af

That's not the point. Mario obviously believes that the media having access could effect the outcome. That's why he's restricting all access. The criticism would come from and rightfully so the media that he went all cloak and dagger, still went up to Gainesville, and lost the **** game. As you mentioned we talking about first 10 minutes of practice. I'm cool with it as long as we get the W. It's a bad look if we lose despite the secrecy.

Never understand shutting down all access to the team.
Fans have right to enjoy practices and scrimmages, its part of what we like to do.
There is very little to gain( if anything) from keeping all under wraps.
Its not like we are coming out with the wishbone for UF game.
Whatever offense and defense we will be running is well known to our opponents ,,we are not going to have an advantage of any kind.

When we were winning 5 championships, practices were open to the public.
Its only after we hired multiple incompetent coaches ( Shannon,Golden,Manny etc)that secrecy has prevailed.

This^

This a must win for the staff. We can make a statement early and gain momentum with a W

Lose and it’s going to have the opposite effect. The negativity around the program will escalate and the players who appear to have bought in to the program may potentially lose faith.

Let the team get any advantage possible with respect to limiting intel available to the gayturd. Let the players focus on football and ignore media.

Fans may not like it but there is zero upside for the team in letting media have access
