Nowhere near as close to this defense. I couldn't stand watching those defenses get TFLs on 1st and 2nd and then give up a 17 yard pass for a first down over and over again.
What are you talking about ? You must confusing them with another defense in the Manny era. We couldn't score was our issue
 
I'd say '94 is the best defense ever here considering the fact they almost carried a Frank Costa offense to a National Championship.

But this defense is amazing, and Hetherman deserves a blank check.

This defense was always in contention for honorable mention with the greats…. With that performance for 4 quarters of playoff football on the road and all the adversity it seemed at times… yeah put them in the rafters

All Manny era defenses were just smoke and mirrors. Horrible tackling, horrible execution, missed assignments. There is no comparison. Heatherman's defense ***** all over any Manny defense.
 
This year’s defense with last year’s offense without a doubt wins a National Championship.
