Anyone else just a tad sick of hearing about Georgia Tech’s run game stats?

“Second most rush yards in the country! Durrrrr.”

Yeah...when literally all you do is run the ball no matter what, you’re probably going to have more rush yards than most anyone. Why is this stat always treated like it’s some massive, earth shattering revelation? Every ******* year, people seem surprised by this.

Even when they suck, they’ll have more yards on the ground than anyone. Just kinda how that dog**** gimmick offense works.

They are good at what they do. They have a good system for their talent level. Our job to stop it.

With all these injuries, just get the W and move on

It's always the same few teams at the top of the total rushing yards stat. Georgia Tech, Navy and so on. You're right it does get annoying the way everybody makes a huge deal out of the GT rushing attack. I will say that this is a particularly good vintage of the Jackets running game. That QB really runs that offense well and he's very capable of throwing it.

I'm thinking that with all the grief the LBs have taken this week because of missed tackles, poor run fits and general lack of gap discipline that they will come into this game with a huge chip on their collective shoulder and smother Georgia Tech's running game and offense overall.

I also think that our offense will really start coming together in this game. Ironic since we lost Walton and Richards is dealing with a lingering hamstring injury which is hindering his production. Still, Rosier will continue to get more comfortable and the offense will open up dramatically because of it. Homer is more than capable and will be extremely productive and the young WRs Harley and Thomas will start settling in soon.

Agreed. I was more or less commenting on the media’s take on GT every year. They just always seem so...surprised? I dunno...

Literally it's the same story every year. We have beat them like 9 out of the last 10 times or something, should be no different this year.

Yep. I'm not terribly concerned about this game.

Side note - reading their forum (GTSwarm or some ****) is pretty funny. They're straight up delusional. There's this ridiculous group-think on that forum that Miami no longer has superior athletes to GT, therefore they should be able to match up man for man with us. One of the big things they think they have better than us is RECEIVERS. Are you ****ting me? Right...great receivers are going to GT so they can stand there and block all day.

I hope we hang 45 on these clowns.

I think that Rosier wasn't the only one that really gained confidence in the last quarter of the FSU game.

I think Richt also stretched outside his comfort zone a bit - and got a bit of that aggressive Mississippi Riverboat Gambler mindset back.

Hopefully, all the pieces we've seen glimpses of this season will finally come together and put an old-fashioned-country-***-whipping on a team.

Richt says the fans can make a difference. GT's offense is particularly geared in audibles and not losing yards due to false starts.

Completely agree. I've seen a lot of talk about us being a second half team this year, and that isn't by chance. In almost every game so far this year, the offense has followed a similar game plan - pound the rock first half, then finally come alive in the second half and start hitting receivers. It's almost like Richt is ultra conservative at first, and then is like "***** IT" and starts letting the offense open up.

It would be great to see that mindset from the start. I think Rosier is a baller. Definitely gained a lot of confidence in the FSU game.

The years they are really good is when they don't fumble or get a bunch of penalties. They get on a pretty good roll at least a couple of times and if they don't shoot themselves in the foot some drives can get pretty ugly for the defense.

but same as always, we start fast and we can definitely **** them up.
