It’s one of the few things that worry me about Zo. In one of his latest podcasts he mentioned his affinity for offenses that can run it down your throat. Said that kind of offense demoralizes the opposition. I get it, especially with his background, but we are in a different era of football that favors the passing game. I’d rather our run game look like Kiffin than Malzahn or Stoops.
Not only a run-first offense is harder to build nowadays, but it's also non-sustainable in the long term. Look at Iowa, they were good for a couple of games, then the opponents started to figure out how to stop the run and see ya Hawkeyes.
