No chance Diaz and Blake are both back

Lol wonderful.

So we will have a DC that knows what he’s doing, an OC that kind of does, and still retain the HC that we all know has no f*cking clue what he’s doing. Makes sense when considering…. It’s UM.

Manny has GOT TO GO under any circumstance
100 percent. He should have been canned after Virginia game but definitely after 1st half of nc st

Yes, they were coming before him. TS was coming regardless but cooney was a positive. Banda and Dvd played a part in the others.
and tae came before him too.no one gives Manny credit for his success, the guy found JHH and GR. I dont like him but he hasn't recruited horribly on defense except LB's and I think thats more a developmental issue and also alot of injuries.

I don't know, NY. He's gotten some guys, no doubt. But so did Coker, Shannon and Golden. What he has in common with those past HCs is he brings in lumpy classes.

If your best 2 CBs are a transfer and Ivey, you've failed at recruiting CBs. And while the DEs were good, the drop off recently has been significant. LBs are an unmitigated disaster. So really the only two position groups you can say he consistently gets good to great talent at are DT and Safety. That doesn't make a great defense overall.

So sure, give him credit for his individual wins. But overall it's not a good recruiting record. I think he's quite mediocre as a recruiter, tbh, and was greatly aided by Covid last class. This 2022 class is a cluster.

Some DE’s and Safeties.

Because they assumed manny was getting away from so much zone by hiring a man specialist cb coach. But manny once again proved he’s in way over his head and isn’t as smart as he thinks he is.
manny and T Rob go at it a few times a game. you can see some heated discussion with them on the sidelines, including this last game v GT

The loss to Stanford also needs to be taken in to context.

1. His OC wasn’t there calling plays

2. There were two really, reeeeeally questionable calls that enabled Stanford to win that game.

Yeah, he made some bone headed coaching decisions, but Oregon got hosed on that last drive.

The fact is, if Oregon wins out, the likelihood of them now making the playoffs w/ MSU losing is pretty high. That win on the road at OSU is looming large now that it appears OSU is most likely going to win out.

Honestly, Mario seemed more Jon Gruden-esq vs. Al Golden-esq, meaning pipe dream vs reality. If Oregon makes the playoffs, Oregon will cash out on him, imo. He’s doing this w/ an inconsistent QB, star RB, & one of his star LB gone for the season. Oregon has big money.
i mentioned th OC being out. i agree that the loss is not a bad loss.

Im under the impression that Zo could shoot for Stoops if he can’t get Mario. I doubt he’ll be a Kiffin guy…at all.

He was asked a direct question by David Lake specifically about the Blake James comments and whether he thought they affected recruiting. Manny didn't volunteer the information- it wasn't a topic he started. And he didn't really elaborate on it. I think reading an ulterior motive in the response is a little much. I wasn't trying to say "dumb", btw, I thought that emojii was a symbol of a question. Like why would you think that.
Well, he could have avoided it easily or deflected with the answer. Lake wanted to hear just something about James and Diaz delivered perfectly.

Hence thats why I feel Diaz throws James under the bus just like James tried to prior. The difference is Diaz doesnt reach out to someone to say something and he knows that he doesnt have to.

I'm making peace with that prospect, minus the Mario part (not a fan). If the Departmenr is as bad as we believe it's, the new AD could opt to take time to identify and fix the structural issues. Get the money from the booster base flowing, take the time to install a better football supporting staff and when (if?) Manny goes full Manny once again fire him mid season and start the search.
Hey ... stop speaking logically.

Pretty sure statistically we have played more man than zone this year.

Probably right.

I don't blame TRob. We have jack **** at corner. One good player, the rest scrubs and no depth.

This defense would be bad no matter the coaches or the scheme.

Garbage line (best player is a 30 year old converted linebacker), the worst LB group in P5, and a handful of JAG corners (outside of TS).

Diaz is a brilliant politician

He's trying to scapegoat Blake to keep his own job

He knows they can't both be back

Brilliant stuff

Lake is on a mission right now. He's all about taking down Blake James. I've never seen him has such strong opinions on anything... I think Manny said as little as possible while answering the question. I'm sure he would have like to say alot more...

Most stories like this die down after a few days. It must have really ****ed him off that Blake didn’t include him in his “media tour” and the intent behind it. I hope he keeps it up.

Lake is one of the better individuals who covers the team. He has a track record of being a homer, but I appreciate the fact that he’s a die-hard fan of the program.

We have way too many “reporters” that do the bare minimum because their paycheck is their only motivating factor.

Throwing him under the bus would be bringing it up without anyone asking.

He was asked and answered.

Agree, in that case I hope that Stoops will be ready to change his offensive beliefs because that "ground and pound" is not gonna work at Miami.
