N'Kosi Perry looked meh...

Look, I'll admit that the sample size is very small. But here's what concerns me about Perry. He looks like he could be another Jacory Harris. Yeah, Jacory threw a lot of TDs, but you had to take the good with the bad. He could go back and forth between looking like he was gonna win the game for his own team and looking like he was gonna win the game for the other team like no one I've ever seen.

I can see Perry being in that same mold.

We all know Rosier is not the answer. But if I have to pick between another Jacory Harris and something else, I'm picking something else.

For a guy whose team celebrates turnovers by dressing the players up as a cartoon Hispanic girl you really shoot your mouth off.

Go Canes!

First pass was a perfect strike. Second pass was right on the money but Pope slipped. Third pass was a 50/50 ball to Njoku in the end zone. Nice touch. Solid defensive play. Williams looked very comfortable and poised.
First pass was not a strike, slightly behind Ezzard but catchable. Pass to Njoku was a bad read as another receiver cross the middle open

But...But...But...they all stared the receivers down! That’s to be expected with the younger guys as they have no playing experience! What’s unacceptable is that our 5th yr senior still does it not to mention his completions were most bubble screens!!

What are you talking about? The throw to Ezzard was right there. Couldn't see if the slot crossed but it was a max protection route with an iso to Njoku. The ball was coming out. Read was fine. Corner made a nice play. Glad he threw it because we need to see if Njoku at 6'6' can win a 50/50 ball.

To a starving person a saltine cracker looks like a steak. Yall some starvin ****'s if you liked what you saw from Perry tonight against maybe the worst team in CFB. He isn't that accurate, he stares down receivers, and he doesnt make smart plays. From what I saw at the spring game and tonight Jarren Williams clearly has the most upside. I do agree we have to get some other guys in the game, but I just do not like Perry as much as I like Williams. Weldon also looks faster then Perry. I dont know mane

He looked better than the semenhole QB

Considering it was everybody's first actual game, they all handled it well. Perry was pretty acurate and showed nice touch. Even his incompletions were good reads, just slightly off target. He probably could have tucked it and ran a couple of times instead of forcing a throw but overall, I'd say it was solid first ever performance.

Weldon does not have enough arm strength. Every pass he as to torque his entire body to get enough oomph on the ball. He is a pretty good athlete though.

I left before William's got in the game so I can't give an opinion on him.

If you were expecting any of these guys to be Baker Mayfiled right out of the box, you're probably disappointed. You're also probably an idiot. What I saw was promising. I hope to see Perry get more burn with the first team in the coming weeks.

Williams is the future but still needs to bake. He looked the most comfortable of all the backups. He wasn’t spectacular in anything he did, but he **** sure looked like the spotlight wasn’t too bright for him.

Perry played very well, but he was a little jittery to start. Williams had no such jitters.

Toledo, FIU & UNC will tell yall everything you need to know.

I'll say what I already said, this was their first start ever in an actual game & the opponent they played was the worst team in FCS football, no exaggeration the WORST.

None of them have had to orchestrate a 9/10+ play drive pinned down on their own side of the field on the road against a legit Defense with loud crowd in a hostile environment.

If you're crowning any of the 3 you're being foolish. Do you think any of these 3 could handle a tough road game at night against a Defense like Va Tech in an environment like Blacksburg? Maybe they can, but this game against Savannah St where they had mostly short field possessions against backups tells us absolutely nothing.

Practices leading up to Toledo, FIU & UNC are what's most important right now, Perry & Weldon should be getting more 1st team reps, and hopefully if we handle our business & put these weak teams away early we can get the young QB's more work in meaningful games against real Defenses. This way if Rosier is struggling during the bulk of ACC play we can be comfortable if he gets benched for one of the youngins & they're not coming in completely green.

As much as I want a new QB I don't think Richt is going to bench Rosier just yet, not until he plays bad again which is likely to happen. And as much as yall might want Jarren to play now, he's going to be redshirted. He'll play due to the new 4 game rule, but he will not start this year.
I agree with this post 100%.

The best the backups can hope for at this moment is to shorten Rosier’s chain and be ready to step in and take command once he inevitably struggles against UNC.

All Rosier has going for him is a dump truck load of balls. He’s not a great passer, but he’s got the nuts to throw up an average pass and let one of our elite athletes make a play. He’s pretty bad at most everything else, and it’s time—these next few games— for someone else to say I can do that and so much more.

Give Perry a little credit. I’ve been about his harshest critic here, but he made 2 or 3 check downs to the TEs that moved the sticks. I can live with it. My concern with him is, when the heat gets turned up to 11, can he remain poised and facilitate the offense? Or does he fall back on trying to win the game on his own.
