Nike is BYKE.

I'm in the same boat. Problem is, most of my Nike gear was all M/L from 15 years ago and I'm closer to an XL/2XL now lol.

I love Adidas on the shoe front. The Ultraboosts are my go-to shoe...****, I'm wearing some as I type this. Honestly, that probably won't change for me on a day to day basis unless I find something Nike that works better for me. I'm even open to some OnClouds, Brooks, Asics, Hokas, etc for daily wear. Adidas has me covered on that front for now.

That being said - if the Canes are wearing Nike, I'll have Nike Canes gear on next year. My loyalty is with the Canes, not with a specific brand. I'm glad the deal is so lucrative and puts us near the top of the college apparel world in terms of value. Like others...I just want Nike to not put us in clams and palm fronds...let's keep it classic just as Adidas has for most of their deal (yes, I recall the feathers and swirly fonts...those sucked).

I think I'd like to look at some NFL unis for ideas now on where Nike might take us in terms of design/looks. Get some ideas from there...🤔

With the new Nike gear you may need a 3XL. I have some early Nike Dri Fit stuff in 2XL that is way bigger than the current Nike Dri Fit in the same size.

I’m convinced they blew their wad with Tennessee and Penn State. They thought Miami would take a lesser deal, that’s where they were dead wrong. Willing to bet that had Adidas merely matched, Miami would have stuck around. Changing suppliers is a pain, there has to be a legit financial incentive to do so. Adidas failed, that’s on them.

I think Adidas knew we were leaving and that's why they invested in Tennessee and Penn State at a high level.

This.

I don’t want to be East Coast Oregon. Keep the gimmicky **** in the Pacific Northwest and let Miami wear our classics. You’d never see Alabama in any of those goofy combos Nike gave us in the mid-late 2000’s.
This is the most important thing. Serious programs honor their tradition. I’ll be disgusted if I see anything like those Christmas decoration helmets Nike put us in. Surprising Miami is on the rise and decided to align themselves with a failing company like Nike. Hope it works out. Keep those Oregon concepts in Eugene.

Gotdam I feel old.
Good news - I know who Kanye is. I know who Jai Lucas is. I think I know what an elite youth basketball league program is. I know what Nike is. I know what Adidas is. I even know where Germany is and I've been to Portland a few times. I have no idea who the F Jai's brother is.

Thank you for the explanation. Enjoy laughing at my expense all day.
Haha no problem & with you not at you; last one

Each sneaker company has their own unique travel league for spring/summer mens and women’s basketball. It’s very hard to break into the league just as an individual team; even harder to become a permanent member program that is represented within in the league at every age level for men’s and women’s. Jai’s family has a program that is just that, which means it is one the most heavily prestigious and invested in youth basketball pipelines in the world.

I hope he holds firm. I know Sumrall probably doesn't have a lot of say as a new coach but Nike/Jumpman forced a ton of alternate jerseys/helmets on the Gators this year.

Forced? Really? Sumrall came from Tulane. Tulane has a ton of alternate jerseys/helmets. I think Sumrall likes a lot of alternate/jerseys.
He said he was consulted but didn’t have much of a say. He just asked for no black uniforms.

Bro you can laugh AT me for this. I will break eggs on this site - and plenty of others - for decades to come (good Lord willing). I deserve to be laughed at. I've earned it.
But I appreciate the sentiment.

I mentioned in another thread looking at NFL team templates to get an idea of where Nike might take us next Fall. The collegiate templates tend to be behind the NFL a smidge for Nike historically, so I'm thinking some of the design concepts might be copy-pasta'ed from existing NFL stuff.

For reference: YES I KNOW IT'S AN SI ARTICLE but this has really good pictures.

My preference as a possible base:

Nike has it right with the Phins throwbacks IMO. This dovetails in pretty good with the traditional throwback look that we've gotten from Adidas since the Richt era got rid of the feathers/tire tread and such. And it's just gotten better, tbh. I want us to stay close to that, and these Phins throwbacks are a good starting point.

For any alternatives, I hope Nike wouldn't get *too* wild, but I could see them looking at stuff like the Broncos or Texans for some flashier alternatives in our colors with some design tweaks:

Just my $0.02. Thoughts?

I think things will be different here b/c Mario is in place when the contract has been signed and has a preexisting relationship with Nike from his time at Oregon.

Yikes. The biggest I've had to go up to in any Adidas has been 2XL. But...I'm on the GLP1's now and slimming down...so maybe it won't be as big of a factor lol.

Good luck with the GLPs. Yeah, Nike Dri Fit went to a fitted silhouette a few years ago that wasn't present in their early Dri-Fit stuff.
