So I'm from Chicago and the other night we got a very rare severe storm that produced some tornados, it's known as a Derecho. My girl saw it and said it looks like a mini Hurricane to her. So i said well **** i guess I've never seen a hurricane from the ground perspective, only the radar and birds eye photos you see on TV.
We looked up some hurricane pictures taken from the ground online and I'm thinking oh ok i guess that's the image that the old Nike Clamshell logo was trying to recreate.
I know it's been hated since it's debut but being the Hurricanes & Nike fan that i am i decided to look up who & why they made this logo only to find out that it's not actually a Hurricane or a Clamshell, IT'S AN IBIS!! A "SLEEK" IBIS!!!
Now i was a kid when it came out in the early 2000s and hadn't been to Florida yet but I've been seeing this logo for over 20 years and had NO IDEA that this was supposed to be an ibis bird, The orange part is it's beak & head while the bottom is a wing. PLEASE tell me that I'm not the only person who just figured this out???
