Nick Saban calls out Alabama players for lack of resiliency, says many 'still get overwhelmed by their feelings'
Nick Saban didn't mince words here.www.saturdaydownsouth.com
The real question should be is are they successful in the league?Player development has really been at the heart of the Bama dynasty. Maybe a little-known factoid:
About half of Bama 5-stars have been drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft, a whopping 48.8%. Only 18.3% of every other 5-star in the country was drafted in the first round. Player development is getting overlooked a lot with our recruiting.
As we speak, you have 2 first-round picks playing for the Dolphins. Tua and Waddle. Both were 5 stars. After the latest draft, there were 77 Bama players on NFL rosters. The real question should be is are they successful in the league?
That stigma about their players not panning out is so old. It was true a decade ago maybe but hasn't been an issue for a while now.The real question should be is are they successful in the league?
Thanks for nothin palPlayer development has really been at the heart of the Bama dynasty. Maybe a little-known factoid:

You don't have to pretend anything. The 5 stars developed at Bama go into the NFL draft at near 50%. The 5 stars from everywhere else in college football about 18% in the first round. Player development is everything in sports. As coaching is. The lazy argument is often the quick dismissal of all the hard work these players and coaches put into this craft.so you mean to tell me if you recruit the best players in high school, they turn out to be among the best players in college? Color me surprised!! I’m sure bama does a nice job developing players but let’s not pretend they have a secret sauce. They put guys in the pros bc they sign the best players in the land. It’s akin to calling calipari or the UK program some sort of mythical player developer bc they send guys In the first round.
When you put in everything you got to win before you play THIS video is the result. You think they're scared now? Wait till Nesta pulls one of these during the coin toss:

We’ve certainly have heard reports that Simpson and TRob are coaching the kids hard. I think Manny is slowly starting to realize you have to break these prima donna’s down first then build them back up. I think the team shall play with an edge this season unlike we’ve seen in awhile (see ND circa 2017).So true. Manny coddles them and builds them up to be overconfident; Saban lights them up and constantly reminds them that they haven't done **** yet. The results speak for themselves. I'm hoping Manny is learning to find the right balance in year 3. He's certainly surrounded himself with a staff that should know better based on the places they have coached at.
I think you're right. I overreacted. Manny has surrounded himself with really good coaches. I'm sure those guys are pushing these kids to stay even keeled. We also have more veterans on this team then ever which should help on this front. We’ve certainly have heard reports that Simpson and TRob are coaching the kids hard. If money and talent are all that, Georgia would have won the last 5 championships. Pretty sure the NFL scouts don't care how much our coaches are making.nobody is arguing that the bama spending apparatus doesn’t yield good results. You sink tons of money into the system and saban is able to recruit/pay for top notch coaches along with top notch players and you get a team stacked with 4/5 star players with good coaches. You’re going to win a lot and elevate players’ play and promote others because of the winning (high tide raising all boats kind of thing). Sure there’s hard work and good coaching but let’s not pretend there’s a secret formula to developing players that bama has that nobody else does. There’s nobody better in pushing guys and coaches.
Apples to oranges - Georgia just has a sh1tty Coach. If money and talent are all that, Georgia would have won the last 5 championships. Pretty sure the NFL scouts don't care how much our coaches are making.

So must Oklahoma and Ohio State. Not all 4 and 5 stars are created equal.
