St. Thomas Aquinas 2016 defensive end Nick Bosa has seen a host of colleges roll through during this spring evaluation period. While several have been in to watch the 6-foot-2, 250-pound four-star prospect, Bosa named three he has been talking outside of the on campus evaluations.
-Says “Florida State, Clemson, Ohio State was here, South Carolina I think came today, Pitt, Miami was here a couple days,” listed as programs that have visited him this spring. “I mean, I talk to Florida State a little bit, I talk to Ohio State of course and then I talk to Miami, I’ve called them a couple times.”
-UM is one school that really impressed Bosa during a campus visit this offseason.
-Says “I talk to [Mark] D’Onofrio and I talk to the defensive line coach,” “I actually visited campus to see UM, that was nice. A few weeks ago, it was like a junior day. I was just walking around with everybody else and then coach [Al] Golden pulled me off and I got to talk to him in his office. He told me that he wanted to offer me and he wanted me to look at UM.
-Says “It’s really nice down there. I had never been there and the school is really cool and the coaches are really nice. I love coach Golden, he’s a good guy. He’s just really cool, chill and down to earth, which is nice.”
-Noles extended an offer to Bosa this offseason as well, but he has yet to visit their campus.
-Says “Coach [Bill] Miller, he just wants me to get up and visit, just get to experience Florida State and keep my mind open. It’s obviously crazy, they just won the national championship and they’re definitely a team I’m going to look at.”
-has a strong connection to the Buckeyes with his older brother, Joey, a sophomore defensive end at Ohio State, and his mother an OSU alum as well. Does the fact his older brother is a Buckeye help in Nick’s recruitment?
-Says “The thing is, him being there gives me more of an inside look at Ohio State,” “It doesn’t really make me like them more.”
-has plans to commit prior to his senior season in the same fashion his older brother did. Therefore, he’s looking at wanting to make a pledge in around a year from now. He will first delve deep into his recruitment with a rather extensive visit schedule this summer.
-Says “I want to visit Bama, Florida State, maybe Florida, probably another trip to Ohio State and maybe see a couple more Big Ten schools like Wisconsin. Maybe go up to Notre Dame because they are sending me a lot of letters and coach is talking to me.”
