NFL picks in starting 22

As I’m rewatching the game this week and wondering where the season will go and how quickly Mario can turn this thing around, I’m also trying to temper expectations because of years of sucking.

So I starting looking over the starting 22 from last week and wondering do we have any players starting that are sure fire top 3 round NFL draft picks?

When we go up against the A&M and Clemson’s they have NFL talent across the roster. So we get the results we’ve seen over the last 15 years. Our NFL talent continues to be 5th, 6th, 7th and UDFA that make rosters. (Minus a few DE)

So my question is, gun to head you can’t be wrong, how many top 3 round draft picks are in this starting lineup?

The only one I’d bet my life on would be Van Dyke.

Sure there’s plenty of players with potential and hype (Taylor, Williams, Nelson, Stevenson) but we’ve seen this story year after year and it seems they never reach the hype.

Bonus stat. We’ve had 29 draft picks since 2017. Only 4 have gone in the first 3 rounds.

Tyrique with good testing numbers next closest
Zion is a Day 3 guy big performances vs Clemson and Texas A&M could move him to Day 2.
Jalen Rivers looks like a Day 1 or Day 2 guy his stock should only go up.
Mesidor could be a Day 2 guy with a big year.
James Williams is the prototype for what NFL defenses are looking for right now.
A couple guys Taylor, Jackson, Kichens could build some stock with big seasons.
I won't entertain any freshmen because who knows at this point.
 
Of our starters, these will be top 3 round picks imo…

Avantae/James/Kam are borderline types. So is Mallory.
 
I think Ed Reed is a lock first round pick, jason taylor probably a third rounder who could have a hall of fame career. Kevin smith is the type of guy who could lead the NCAA in rushing and maybe be an early third rounder. A guy like Salavea is probably a 4th round type and I could see Rodrique Wright sneaking into the 7th round.
 
TVD 1st depending on how he performs this year

Rivers is 1st or 2nd

Zion mid 2nd to late 3rd

Rique and Mesidor i can see 3rd to mid 4th

Kam Tae and James all can go first 3 rounds but i need to see more, same with Arroyo
 
One that hasn’t been mentioned is Darrell Jackson

Be curious to see where he ends up when he leaves here
