The Dolphins didn't overpay Jones, that was the market. $82.5M/5 years = $16.5M average per year.

The New York Giants whiffed on Jones, settled for James Bradberry, and gave him $45M/3 years = $15M average per year.

Comparing the two deals, it's actually a good deal for Miami or a horrible deal for the Giants. The cap will go up and so will salaries and Bradberry will get more money in 3 years from now, likely bringing his average at or higher than Jones, a far superior player.
Here is Bradberrys stats from last year against three of the top 5 receivers in the NFL:
Jones
Game 1: 5 for 64
Game 2: 4 for 27
Mike Evans
Game 1: 1 for 16
Game 2: 4 for 48
Michael Thomas:
Game 1: 7 for 49
Game 2: 5 for 29

Bradberry put these guys on lockdown. The giants got the better player and paid less. Jones is a scrub. The giants receivers exposed him.

Jones is a scrub? Hilarious. Your New York Giants wanted Jones and settled for Bradberry.

The team had the most cap space in the NFL because they got rid of guys. This is fiscally responsible restocking. They had like $100M in cap space. They'll still have a lot of cap space left before they get to be anywhere near a situation like the Rams are in now.
Ok I didn’t know the numbers, I was worrying of that because the rams mortgaged their future

Don't waste your breath with G-girls. They think they know it all and there team is the best.

Bottom line, Jones is was the 9th best rated FA overall. Bradberry 67. Jones grades out better. Period. Why? Because he's better. The dimwits from NJ are just ****ed that they couldn't land him and they wanted him...lol

Nobody is mad that we didn’t get him. We didn’t want to waste 20 million a year in this guy. Look at what Bradberry did against Jones, Evans and Thomas. He shut all of them downZ Those are all too 5 receivers in the NFL.

You just him the highest paid cornerback in the NFL. And he isn’t even close to the best in the league. He didn’t even make the pro bowl last year

It’s the deepest WR draft class ever and the Bills give up a 1st, 4th, 5th, and 6th round pick.

Now that is a close second to winning the “Dumbest Trade of the Season” award after the DeAndre Hopkins robbery.

Diggs is the leagues best route runner. He's an excellent WR.

However, I am not sure what silky smooth, perfect routes do when you've got Josh Allen scatter-shooting everything all over the field.
