NFL Draft 2017 - Canes Related

4.6 is not elite speed for any running back unless they weigh over 225 pounds. There's a world of difference between a 4.5 flat and a 4.6 flat. The starting running back on my high school team ran a 4.6 (hand timed) and his best college offer was from a 1AA school. He was hardly elite.

Two key words 1) High school 2) Hand-timed

So, when the original quote posted "4.6 is not elite for a high school kid" what laser timer are they using? Every high school 40 is hand timed. So if a kid runs a hand timed 4.6 in high shcool, he's probably closer to 4.75. Which is nowhere near "elite". Thus proving my point.

Please keep up with the discussion or STFU.

So, you don't have a high school that laser times their 40 yard dashes either?

The high school combines, such as the opening, laser time their athletes. Over my time on the board, I have seen multiple posters come into a thread about testing and say "so and so is average speed, he was only a 4.6." That's just not the case. People don't realize how fast a sub 4.5 40 is. We're talking like 1st percentile.

This.

And yet per the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association (mostly from tobacco road), Njoku didn't make 1st, 2nd or 3rd team All ACC.

And Njoku will be laughing at these morons all the way to the bank. I could anyone not look at his season and he not make any ACC team, I call bullshyt.

I'm guaranteeing Joku will be a 1st round pick

In many of the mock drafts he is predicted in the first, there is a wide disparity on who is going to pick him, definately a hot commodity. Belicheck would make him into a H/O.

Cook and Fournette ran 4.5. The next dumb *** that comes into any thread and says that 4.6 is not elite for a high school kid needs to play in traffic.

This completely lacks logic. Maybe his best offer was 1AA because he's not good at football, not because of his 40 time.

Thought cook would run faster.
I did too. I would like to see his 10 and 20yrd splits though.

Coach Macho, You still don't think Corn runs under a 4.5?....

He ran a 4.46 at The Opening finals in 2013. I guess his time at FSU slowed him down.
He was also about 20 pounds lighter
At 196 ran a 4.46
At 214 ran a 4.49

Not that much of a difference and cook has that elite game speed. I chalk it up to not knowing how to properly run the 40 because he's explosive ag
