Cook and Fournette ran 4.5. The next dumb *** that comes into any thread and says that 4.6 is not elite for a high school kid needs to play in traffic.

4.6 is not elite speed for any running back unless they weigh over 225 pounds. There's a world of difference between a 4.5 flat and a 4.6 flat. The starting running back on my high school team ran a 4.6 (hand timed) and his best college offer was from a 1AA school. He was hardly elite.

Two key words 1) High school 2) Hand-timed

I'm far from nole fan, but Cook's numbers are irrevelant, he's got something...period. Will it translate to the pros, don't know, but he killed it in college.

If he stays healthy it will. The guy reaches top speed in one step...only players I've seen like that are the Hester's and Deion's of the world. He's also a good pass catcher. If he stays healthy, he'll be fine. I will still be rooting against him and his brother.

So if your buddy's real 40 time was a 4.8, that means your real 40 was a 5.6, not 4.8. Sorry man.

From a Bleacher Report article about Combine GOATs: Pat O’Donnell, Miami, 2014: Oh, just a punter running a 4.64, faster than Johnny Manziel’s 4.68 that year, and benching 23 reps, two more than Clowney did. #PunterU

Really curious to see how Njoku does at the combine compared to Winslow.

Winslow's #'s (Njoku)
Height: 6'4 (Same)
Weight: 247 (246)
40 Yrd Dash: 4.62 Combine/4.55 Pro Day (4.64)
225 Lb. Bench Reps: 24 Combine (21)
Vertical Jump: 33 Combine/33 1/2 Pro Day (37 1/2")
Broad Jump: 10'0" Combine/10'1" Pro Day (11'1")
20 Yrd Shuttle: 4.10 Pro Day (4.34)

Kellen Winslow NFL Combine Results

Njoku reminds me a lot of another out of state jumbo WR that converted to TE at the U, Kellen Winslow II. They both came in at 6’4” but Njoku is already 20lbs heavier than Winslow was as a true freshman and both ran in the 4.6-4.7 range out of high school. Winslow ran a 4.62 at the NFL combine and a 4.55 on Pro day, Njoku ran a 4.67 in July. They are both great athletes who played both ways in high school. If Njoku continues to develop physically, I can see him getting to 250-260 range while retaining his speed and athleticism. Here is a side by side comparison of the 2 great athletes.

So, when the original quote posted "4.6 is not elite for a high school kid" what laser timer are they using? Every high school 40 is hand timed. So if a kid runs a hand timed 4.6 in high shcool, he's probably closer to 4.75. Which is nowhere near "elite". Thus proving my point.

Wasn't my buddy. I never timed myself in the 40 but I'm sure it would be really slow. If you had read the original post I was responding to (which I conveniently quoted) you'd understand the comment I made. Once again, what high school is timing football players with a laser? The guys on Green Tree get timed by hand.

So, you don't have a high school that laser times their 40 yard dashes either?

I don't think anyone knows what point you're trying to make.
