NFL Combine Invites

Those **** soft a$$, entitled, non-adversity handling Florida kids!

Those are the ones not being invited to the combine

Jim Mora made a great point yesterday regarding the recruiting process these days and how it distinguishes one type of kid from another. He said he attended a coaching camp last summer and the elite quarterback who just signed with Wisconsin was up at 5:30 AM and taking copious notes throughout the film process while also asking sharp questions. Mora said he was amazed, and couldn't believe the kid was committed to Wisconsin as opposed to one of the elite powerhouses.

More significantly, Mora started talking about the kids who didn't even have the decency or awareness to remove their faces from their smart phone during the recruiting visit. Mora literally started emulating how they do it, while holding a phone to the side and shifting it around while never looking up as the head coach is speaking to him.

That's when I thought about the Florida kids...during that anecdote. Too many of them. N'Kosi Perry resembled that type more than the Wisconsin example. Obviously Mora recruited in California primarily. But his theme throughout the 4+ hours yesterday was that the West Coast had become too soft compared to the SEC.

Likewise with the Canes, whether we prefer to acknowledge it or not. My concern throughout last offseason was how we would stack up against an LSU roster of grown men. Clemson is the only roster in the ACC that resembles the grown men of the SEC. Heck, even an offensively sputtering Mississippi State program has one huge rock solid defender after another. That will play out during the upcoming NFL Draft. Mississippi State is not starting Pat Bethel types.

Is UM going to host a Pro-Day?

Its better to work out on your home turf than at the Combine IMO.

I may be really high right now...and...while I know you may not mean it, brother...

after reading this a few times, this post seems pretty racist.

They always do.

Bummed St. Louis didn’t get an invite but he struggled in 2018. Had he stayed at RT, he’d be an invite.

That said, I think all of our guys should test well except maybe redwine and JJ in the 40. They should all shine in positional drills
