Malik Rosier followed by many Kaaya was under appreciated threads posted on here.

Scale of 1 to 10 -- what's Allison on the athleticism scale ? Is he a statue like Kaaya? Or does he have enough ability to effectively run the RPO. He throws a beautiful ball.

Allison...

I'm probably one of the biggest Perry fans on here, but I think he'll need a redshirt, not just to put on weight but just to get a full grasp of the Offense.

Redshirt Freshman's have had a lot of success in today's era college football, I see the same with Perry... If he was an EE, then I would say he gets it hands down.

I like Weldon a lot too, he's got that competitive chip on his shoulder that will make him a really good QB down the line, but I don't think he'll be ready day 1 either.

I think when Perry takes over we still use Weldon in spots like Urban used Tebow his first year.

Rpo does not require the qb to run. Its not read option. Why is it so hard for some of you to understand?

I guarantee Richt is not turning over his program to a QB that he did not recruit.

QB will be one of the following

Perry
Weldon
Grad transfer

Yes, it's two plays the QB has the option to run. We get it dude.

But you'd be hard pressed to find a coach who'd prefer to run it w a non mobile QB.

There are teams that do it without a running threat at qb. Richt isnt changing his offense to a option offense. Yall are so hung up on the rpo **** when just about everybody uses it now.

Prior to injuring his throwing hand Shirreffs was doing better than Capt. Jack in fall camp. Then he reportedly got in Richt's doghouse who didn't think it should have affected him as much as it did. Richt mentioned Rosier and Shirreffs after a practice this past week. If Kaaya leaves we might see Miami go after a grad transfer if they don't think they have a solid starter and backup on the roster. Hopefully the GuYS on the roster now are a lot better than they looked last Spring which wasn't very good.

In my view, it's a battle between the 5 guys on campus in January (Allison, Vinny, Sheriffs, Weldon, Rosier). Whoever wins spring, summer and fall is the starter come next September. We all know that coach wants to be a running team anyway so I doubt he would ask any new QB to win the game with his arm at least early on in the season.

With the talent coming back and in the recruiting class at RB, WR (Ahmmon, Cager and Mullins already on campus with Deejay, Harley if he commits to us and Njoku coming in), the TE position solidified with Herndon/Irvin/Haskins (if the latter 2 can figure out how to stay on the team) TE, an improving OL, and a lights out defense, I'm fine with whoever wins the QB competition. That would certainly set things up for a big time run in 2018.

I know in the NFL for example the Bengals used to run it heavily w Dalton, but there's no comparison to teams that run it w a mobile QB (Carolina, Seattle).

Richt is trying to run the fast break again, no ?

Richt sounded like he didn't care for any of the back ups during that interview. It was quite telling.

Richt needs to take that RPO as was called and run - and shove it so far up his nether region, it sticks in his throat.

That sucked.

He gave some props to Shirreffs; maybe because he doesn't need anybody to transfer out prior to Spring. Rosier has the wheels but I'm not sure we have a solid starter. This Spring will be very interesting.

I think Kaaya will get more love from fans after he leaves than he did while he was here. Kaaya played behind some of the worst Olines Miami has had in a long time and now that the Oline should be much improved he is probably leaving. Bad timing.

If Rosier is at center next yr, you can kiss all hope for a meaningful season goodbye.

We need Kaaya back for his sr yr and to pass the torch to N'Kosi Perry after a redshirt.

It will be Kaaya or Rosier. God forbid we have a baseball arm and a realistic option to run when the pocket closes in. We have been beaten by the QB run for years. Payback time.

Aren't a bunch of our oline of the previous 2 seasons in the NFL now?
