Next Year and Officiating

Many of our penalties during ACC play were procedural which had nothing to do with the refs to your point.

We play disciplined football this 2026 season will be loads of fun
Except for allowing the opposing defenses to simulate the snap and thus causing over half the false starts. You think it was coincidence the false starts were minimal in playoffs? I think not. Mario complained about it all year.

Reuben Bain - 7 sacks against non ACC opponents
2 1/2 against ACC opponents hmmmm....
Yep! This right here was what I was paying the most attention to during the playoffs. The defensive line was night and day different in ACC play vs the playoffs. I honestly dont know how our coaches tolerate or deal with it without absolutely losing their ****.

It will be really interesting to see what the ACC rest due to us this year. We are clearly carrying the entire conference on our backs, but will that come into the calculation for these refs?

Was just thinking about next year and this teams possibilities with a very talented roster.

Then I thought about having to play with our ACC officials again. It was such a relief to not have to deal with ACC officials the entire playoffs. We didnt see the constant stoppage in play because of bogus penalties and needless reviews. The game flow was so much better in the playoffs.

We are by far the most affected by these refs and it is every year. So not looking forward to the worst officiating in college football.

We'll see what happens. IMO there was a little bit of a change with the Pitt game last year, I felt like all of a sudden, the ACC started to be worried it was going to be left out of the playoffs, so it officiated our game a bit more fairly and allowed us to look better.

I watched a podcast from OSU people before the game where they commented that they were astonished at some of the calls that went against us during the season. They said as bad as Big10 crews are they saw calls that would never be called in the Big. It’s not just us that see it.

I feel like FSU fans shared a similar sentiment about ACC refs when they were on top. I feel like it’s Tobacco Road giving a middle finger to the state of Florida.

Who cares! If we just go out there with the mindset of beating the **** out of all ACC teams and get the young guys PT instead of trying to win by field goals where the refs calls make an actual difference in the tight games, we will be straight! Don’t play down to the competition and the refs can do whatever they want and we still win big!

That may be true on our end but the LACK of calls against our opponents is my issue. Based on the acc officials - the ACC should have a dozen Olineman drafted in first round due to their amazing play vs Bain and Messidor

How many holding calls did the BaeST DLine in America garner during acc play?

I bet I can count em on two hands MAX

That is the issue

Didn’t they call back a TD for bell pulling brown into EZ???? After he was already in EZ????

Don’t be surprised by the ACC referees this year wanting some get back for how Miami gloryholed Duke in the portal

This. Never seen an opposing team get two PF on same drive. And they were big more then legit.

Its not just the calls against us. Its that our ACC opponents average a tremendously lower amount of penalties called on them when they play us vs their average for the other games in the same year.

Individual calls are debatable but there is no way to debate the statistical anomaly with that.
