NEXT HEAD COACH

Are you? Kiffin has now finished with 7 wins or less at every job he’s been at with the exception being Alabama.

Is this the burner account for Blake James? You seem to have the same eye for coaching.
What is the Raiders record NOW?
What is Tennessee's record NOW?
What is USC's record NOW?
But I'm done having this discussion with you cause all you trying to do is get some laughs and likes...

Kiffin at USC: 8-5, 10-2, 7-6, 3-2

Helton at USC: 5-4, 10-2, 11-3, 5-7

That ain't what I asked you, furthermore, is USC on probation now? Gruden is the head coach of the Raiders and how's things going for him right now? What about Pruitt at Tennessee? See my point?...

We need someone with energy who can evaluate well and go toe-to-toe for the best recruits in Florida. Mario fits the bill perfectly at this juncture. Wouldn’t mind Butch as a stopgap but he has a shorter shelf-life and the program needs more hope than that.

You don’t have a point lol. Everybody at every job we’re just as bad or worse. They didn’t improve or decrease lol.

I hope CMR figures it out and wins 10 plus games in 2019. If not and both parties mutually agree to part ways then Mario Cristobal should be the next head football coach at Miami. I am rooting for the football team to succeed in 2019.

so 10-4 with a cupcake schedule

Then explain to me why his teams are so inconsistent? One year they’re 9-3 then they’re 6-6 the next. I’m not saying he isn’t a good coach, I believe we need a guy with a higher ceiling like the others I’ve mentioned.

Offense.
Below I have pasted an observational view on Kyle Whitt directly from a Utah Utes fan's perspective.

"UTAH FAN"
"Let me preface this by saying this just one old man’s opinion. I’m not saying any of this is a fact.

First, there is no one who was happier that he decided to stay on to coach the Utes after the 2004 season. I was grateful to players like Casy Evans, Madsen and others who went to his house the night he was ready to accept the BYU job. These guys helped Whitt to change his mind and coach at Utah.

Recruiting

I think that Whitt is an adequate recruiter. I don’t think he is a great recruiter. He has missed on many local kids and some of that happens. But, I do think he should have got a higher percentage of the local kids. I do think he has a good eye for potential players like Eric Weddle.

Player Development

I believe that this may be Whitt’s biggest strength. Just look at the star rating of his recruits and then the number of players he has placed in the NFL. He has competed in the PAC 12 with what most consider lesser talented recruits.

Defensive Coaching

This speaks for itself. He took his dad’s defensive philosophy and implemented here at Utah. He was a great D coordinator and all of the D coaches under him have had success. The defensive lineman and D backs he has had drafted is amazing.

Offensive Coaching

IMO this is one of his weaknesses. He follows the Coach Mac philosophy of winning in the trenches. He is not one to open up the offense. He wants to win time of possession and control the clock. That is okay. However, he gets way too conservative when he has a lead. He is also afraid of making mistakes. After Travis Wilson threw 6 PIs against UCLA, he never let Travis really open things up again in his career.

Special Teams

Whitt has been amazing with special teams. His kickers, punters and returners have been amazing. This is where the majority of his All American players played. No one can complain about this part of his coaching.

Management

From internal sources (players and coaches) Whitt is a micro manager. He demands control of all aspects of the team. He has gone as far as to not allow any coaches to speak to the media. I have learned after 30+ years of management, that to be successful at anything – you must delegate and let people do their jobs. I don’t think he has delegated enough to his assistant coaches.

He has typically only hired coaches he knows. He has been afraid to go outside of his circle to find talented up-and-coming guys. This is a big mistake IMO.

Publice Relations

Whitt is not great with PR IMO. This is not the most important thing for a coach, but it is an important role for a college football coach. Meyer was great at it and Mac was good at it. It seems that Whitt would rather not ever talk to the media.

Bottom Line

We have sold out for about a decade, even during the recession. That says something. Some say that is the bottom line. He has been competitive in the PAC 12 and certainly respected. He is the third longest serving coach in D1 football. That is also amazing.

I hoped and hope that Whitt would take us to the next level. I have said before, that I think it would be possible to become like Nebraska of the 70s-90s or Oklahoma today. It won’t be easy. It won’t happen until he recruits better. Can he do it? I hope he can, but we are far from being there yet. We cannot compete with the top 5 teams in college football because we do not have the same level of athletes. Whitt does great with what talent he has.

Heupel is the next Lincoln Riley. Heupel flopped in his first gig, then re-assessed himself (how bout that? ) and added a ton of changes to the Air Raid.

Since then he's totally transformed every offense into a top offense. He also is a great recruiter, just snatched ANOTHER QB from Hawaii that Georgia was coveting.

If Miami wants to recapture the JJ/Erickson magic, then it has to go back to hiring innovators. I joke about hiring Leach (if nothing else, we would at least have something to smile about every once in a while and we could do worse) but the legit next championship HC for Miami is Heupel.

Interview:
Babers
Campbell
Briles
Heupel
Winston Moss
and Browns interim OC (really their RB coach)
Freddie Kitchens!

I wanted Butch three years ago and wouldn’t mind him as a stop-gap hire.

It is mind-blowing that some people really want Butch back. I remember what he did at Miami: he stockpiled some ridiculous talent, but couldn't consistently win with it? Why? because he is one of the worst gameday/sideline coaches ever.
Butch has a weird twitch and a keen eye for talent
Mark has no adrenaline and a keen eye for talent
Neither Butch nor Mark knows what to do with talent in today's game.

Please bury them both in the same casket and get them away from the University of Miami.

Matt Campbell would be at top of my list if Richt is fired today. Young coach who does more with less talent.

Meyer. He wouldn’t have to fake a heart attack and he would sell his soul to win.

That’s what this school needs. Someone who doesn’t give a fug if people call us Thug U. **** do all the dirty things needed to get us on top FAST
